yep its a complete joke mate my dsg box had a serious design fault from the manufacturers, so im hoping when i get my car back it doesnt happen again lol 4 weeks to change a gear box is a p*** take

Try 16 weeks!!! that really took the piss!

Fekkinguseless springs to mind. Just make sure they give the car a full Geo check mine initially had a wonky steering wheel of by about 05 degrees the car drove towards the centre of the road as soon as you took hands off the wheel. It still has shakes again at 70ish. Going in again for a full geometry set up. I would not bother but got a lot of driving coming up next month.

I could lie to you, as I said though now it creaks in reverse. plus it now rattles again. like I have said its going back in to an independent body specialist for another geometry set up and check to stop the shaking at 70(ish)

No it was sat in the workshop for three weeks before they got the gearbox out as my turbo had shat its self as well. Then they got the box out on the bench and could not split it properly, finally after a none to pleasant solicitors letter things got moving. It was done in house by the dealer and their master technician did all the work with his fellow SEAT approved mechanic. At the time I was given the only gearbox in warranty at SEAT UK. Initially they wanted the dealer to try and repair it, WTF is that all about. Mine had cogs that had shed teeth ends saw the extent of damage to mine the service manager emailed me pictures and invited me to come and have a look at it over the Christmas period. No DSG specialist for me Im afraid.

thats appauling that is. they have told me there going strip my gearbox and have a loook what was causing the problem but they have sent a tech report to seats main factory for them to send a new gearbox out, which will take a week or more to be deliivered, my turbo and engine are fine it was just the gearbox that stopped working right, no banging or anything it just completely stopped working and only wanted select gears 1/3/5 ?? what happened to yours when it packed up mate ??

Mine rattles like sh1t but SEAT claims this is a feature of this pro DSG.
But as long as it works fine... But I'm quite dissapointed and also ashame to drive my car over bumps when some1 is watching. It breaks my heart.

ive just rang customer support seat uk and they have told me something new lol which has baffled me. they have sent a tech report off to seats main factory, and then they have got to read the report and decide to either replace my gearbox or try repair it ?? what is that all about i was told by a mechanic at seat they are going replace my gearbox! so what the customer support women is telling me, the gearbox has only been checked over and they are waiting for the go ahead from seat ! so if they do try repair it, its going be a bodge job on a car that is only 2 days old lol it just keeps getting better. so its waiting on a technical report to come back and tell them what to do.

it doesnt say alot for the brand when the dealers are giving you a corsa while your car is being fixed.
i hope it all works out for you mate but i really do think you should put your foot down a bit with seat uk and the dealer.

ive tried my hardest mate :( asked them swap my car and different things but they wont do anything about it :( the bloke i spoke to at seat told me the car is under warranty for a reason and itll be fixed to like brand new :/ so my arguement wouldnt stand to anyone, which is daft really seing as tho the car was only 48 hours old :( just got sit and wait now thats what ive been told by seat, so nothin more i can do :( hopefully they will fix my car fast seing as tho ive got no courtsesy car and the car being so new.
