Jesus christ, thats an absolute piss take.

And adding extreme insult to injury giving you a 1.2 corsa as a courtesy car..

Not sure if you have paid outright or on finance, but having to pay like £200-£300 a month + insurance on a boc to drive around a 1.2 corsa is a piss take, they should pay the finance for you while your not driving the car!

so im hoping its a steady fix without the hassle if my car comes back sounding and feeling different i will not be happy to say the least

I'm sure after driving the 1.2 Corsa for a while, it'll feel great again when you get it back. I think they ought to give you the car that the salesman drives home in. He'll soon be fed up and make sure yours is fixed quickly.

The stuff that "Biker" says is right. Go for some freebies. Afterall they made a lot of money out of you when they sold you the car.

Don't think that the newness has gone. It's only machined parts put together and fastened with nuts and bolts. The newness is the smell when you open the door and get in. That'll still be there. Mmmmmm

Good luck :)

I hope this all works out for you fella and I do feel your "pain" been there done that. What I have learnt with SEAT UK is;

The dealership and the sales manager in particular were fekkin awful. He was just a fat lying twat basically. Nice as pie then just plain rude, and ignorant. I took solace in the fact that I was pleasant on all occasions in dealing with them. He however in my opinion was a complete *****! With little self control when things went wrong for them.

Seat Uk will give away sod all as compensation, probably two services if your lucky not much beyond that. Costs them nothing really as the warranty and servicing charges are at a considerably lower rate between the dealer and the Manufacturer.

After two days, I would reject the car, get your money back and get something else really. If this is their standard of customer support then maybe bye bye dealer.

im guessing theyll have it for over 4 weeks easy.

But they will never tell you that. They will say it will take a week to 10 days to get the part and fit it. Then it'll be another week and another week so they hope that you won't walk away because it's quicker to wait another week to get your car back than to wait 3 months for a new car. But it could be 4 months as chuck b found and then it would be quicker to reject it and buy another car.

I don't know what you did with your old car but if you part ex'd it then you probably won't get it back so you will need to buy another car while you wait for a new one.

just been screwed over aint i lol ive spoke to 4 different people today and i finally no what is wrong with my dsg, the whole gear box is nackered had a serious fault inside it, so they have sent the technical information to seats main factory and now im waiting for them to send a new dsg so thattl take 2 weeks, then theyve got to fit it and get my car back to me as its no longer at my dealer where i bought it from, its gone too a dsg specialist in birmingham, so they have told me ill be looking at 3/4 weeks easy :( they have offered my 2 free services as compensation lol im just praying i get it back in time for GTI internationals end of june :( as its my first time on a club stand.
ive heard this has happened to a few cupras but its not common, maybe 100 out of 1000 the service engineer told me anyway, if it was a 6 speed manuel non of this would happen lol

you have alot more patients than me. lol. i would of told them to stick the car up thier arse! if you decide you are going to give them the chance to fix the car make sure they give you the 14 days cooling off period again when you get it back as seems tho you aint had the car for the cooling off period!

and personally i would say 10% of thier cars having dodgy gearboxes is actually qiute alot.

That's crap, if that was me I would tell them to keep the car, give me my money back or give me a replacement Cupra. Hope you get this sorted. 100 out of 1000 is an alarming statistic and should not be nearly as high as that, especially for a manufacturer like SEAT.

I agree, as much as I love my DSG 'box, if the option was there to have a 6-speed manual I would of took it.

- got no courtesy car!
- seat arnt really telling me much
- they forget too ring me and let me no what there doing too my car
- and im paying for a boc im not going be driving for 5 weeks :(

Great lol

im just beginning laugh it off now as i have completely given up speaking to seat, im just going let them sort my car out and get it back in 3/5 weeks :/ they have changed my opinion of the cupras so much, as i used to think they were the dogs dangly bits, now im just fed up of them lol but im sure once its back and sorted out ill love it again :) just a waiting game now and hope they get it fixed soon!

these DSG boxes are to complicated if they all had 6 speed manuals in theyd be perfect lol but you wouldnt get the smooth gear changes out of a manual, ahh well its all fun and games aint it, at least its happened in the warranty years, as the technician told me it would cost me well over 3.5K replace the DSG :/ lol

so you had it 2 days and its fooked? Surely "its not fit for purpose" then?

yep had it less than 48 hours! and the gearbox destroyed itself lol!

i havent got a courtesy car because they didnt have 1 there for me too have, so ive told them to stick it up there a*** and hurry up and get my car fixed, ive got a work van for work so not to bothered about having a courtesy car, just annoyed me how they didnt have one for me :/

VW reckon there brilliant but i dont no anymore :/ well hopefully whatever has gone wrong with mine theyll fix in the future :) because whatever it was destroyed my gear box lol and it smelt like it was on fire

5 weeks without your brand new car? That's a joke. Better to wait 1 more month and request a whole new car.

yep its a complete joke mate my dsg box had a serious design fault from the manufacturers, so im hoping when i get my car back it doesnt happen again lol 4 weeks to change a gear box is a p*** take
