I'm sure Bill (Badger5) was using a GT40 last season in his race Ibiza. There's vids on youtube of him wheel spinning in 4th gear past stuff on track. Wasover 600bhp.....

Absolutely mental! Hats off to you mate!

Cheers Scott, i will update the other forum today ;)

Been thinking about wether the engine can rev that high aswell to push the turbo, i wish i went with a 2.0 stroker now. A bit less stroke and Intergrated Engineering have been pushing there's on the dyno to 9500rpm so they are well safe for big power.

Thinking about stripping the engine and selling the 2.1 stroker kit, then buying a 2.0 tsi kit???

Or i may just run the engine and if it lets go then change to IE special JE race pistons, tuscan rods and a tsi crank.

Mmmmm decisions decisions :think::think:

Your worse than me with changing your mind! I know the feeling though, it just bugs me when I wish I would of done something different.. about a month down the line I end up changing it!
I have heard that the longer stroked 1.8t's are less willing to rev, Im pretty sure thats why Bill stuck with the standard stroke and his is revver.
You want to rev 9000+ you will diffinately need to be looking into a solid lifter kit.. be prepared to part with an arm, and posibly a leg :D

Keep the 2.1 stroker kit mate , you will loose alot of money taking it apart and selling it

Yeh will do, plus if it breaks i'll just build another one and make it even stronger, been a good learning curve.

I know James, i always think after doing something....i wish i did that instead.
I have read a couple of monster build threads with 2.1's, the owners claim the engines spin up fine and can handle the revs but i am slightly nervous, probably be fine i just constantly think about stuff like that..... i think its a form of car modifying OCD :D

Have many people used that turbo yet? Looks impressive!
The only ones i've found are on Evo's and Skylines, hopefully i'll be able to scare a couple of rice burners ;)

There was a 20vt head for sale on edition38 not too long back, had all supertech valves/springs and retainers with schrick solid buckets and cams, think he wanted about 1k for it, which I thought was pretty good!

Not a bad price considering how much the parts cost alone let alone labour of measuring shims / grinding etc.
I've got all the Valves, Springs Titanium retainers sorted, Rosten Performance sell the solid lifter set-ups but think i'll stick with hydro's for now...... too much to buy still :cry::cry::cry:

Although christmas is coming and i have been a good lad ;)
