Had my new exhaust dilevered yesterday which I hope 2 get fitted soon.

Went for a drive yesterday & thought it was pretty hot so decided to switch on the aircon which as blowing hot air!!!

Got home & checked under the bonnet & found that I had lost a load of coolant. Topped it up & drove it in to work today to get it booked in to get looked at & it started overheating. 130 on the gauge! Steam was pouring out the bonnett & again ive lost a load of coolant. Managed to drive it back home & get my corsa![B)]

Usint that at the mo but well annoyed.

My a/c doesnt work, the fan doesnt work which is causing it to overheat. Losing coolant alot. Think this may be the water pump? Am I also right in thinking that the a/c is linked to the coolant?

Its going to the SEAT Stealers on sat morning to get checked out.

Well gutted, what started off as a good day when my exhaust sytem arrived has turned into a nightmare!

If I were you I wouldnt have attemped to drive it when you noticed you'd lost a lot of coolant. Have you noticed any leaks, split radiator hoses etc??

No, that was the thing. I checked under the car for leaks & it was completly dry as anything. But I had definately lost coolant, It was way below the Min line.

I couldnt find a leakage anywhere at all.

If the fans aren't working then it's either the fuse on the battery, the fans are knackered or both. Seems to be a common problem at the mo, loads of people suffering from it.

If it's the water pump you see the temp rise when the engines under load and then reduce when off load.

Im not gonna drive it until saturday when it goes to the dealers. It drives fine but overheats like mad when ur stopped in traffic. Its just annoyed me cos it was fine before i went away for the wk/end & not its buggered!

& Also what really annoyed me was driving it back yesterday i heard a really loud bang/pop noise & now realise my back light is smashed & I cant work out how that happened! A real bad day

I noticed there was a similar post on here but he doesnt seem to have the problems with his a/c.

Mine is just blowing constant hot air whatever temp u set it at, & it doesnt matter if is a/c is on or off its still proper hot air coming out

If it's still hot air coming out of the a/c then the pumps working as it's still pumping the hot water round the heater matrix, if the pump wasn't working I'd expect the air to cool a bit after a while as the air passing over the matrix cools the water.

I'd see if you can find what's causing the fans to not work, fix that and hopefully you've fixed the other problems
