If it was done then I imagine the invoice/receipt included would say it. As I say it often gets neglected, so I doubt the dealer that sold it would have bothered, and would likely have opted for basic service.

I would avoid driving it far without sorting it out, but a short journey *might* be okay.

If you can't find any history of a DSG service, and the car is on more than 40k mile, I recommend taking it to a VAG specialist to have the DSG serviced ASAP
Regarding oil service:
DQ381 7 speed oil service is 120,000km = 75k miles (UK dealers are calling it 80k miles)
It's the DQ250 6 speed with the 40k mile service.

Just doing an update - I only got the car back on Tuesday this week! It did need a new mechatronic unit so that had to be ordered then the work done. I could only speak to the receptionist when I picked it up and she said she had noticed quite a few of these gearboxes needing replaced in cars around the same age as mine - she brought up a SEAT app to check service history and there was nothing for this year which was a bit alarming. However it could be that the app hadn't been updated maybe? Surely Arnold Clark wouldn't lie about getting a service done? I'm going to have to contact her about the DSG service because I'm still a bit confused when that has to happen - she did say but I can't remember if it was at the 40k or 80k mark.

I tried to download an app but one wasn't compatible with my car and the other was a business one not in English. Can anyone give me more info about one I can download?

It could be Arnold Clark didn't update the digital service book, wouldn't surprise me as a lot of places don't. It's not an app, it's held on the Seat servers and accessed by garages.

Nothing stopping you from having it serviced at a VW Group specialist, that way they should have access to update it.

Ah right - that makes sense then - she was giving me the impression I could access it myself. So am I right in thinking it's just the DSG service that needs to be done at a VW specialist garage?

I recommend all work is carried out at a VW group specialist as you will largely get a better quality or work and service

Google " independent VAG Garage near me" to find your local independent, or better still ask on here for recommendations close to where you live.
