Forgot to say that I found a set of fibreglass front wings for sale on gum tree. Done a deal with the bloke and he posted them as well. Cos as every thing is on gum tree it's the other end of the country try. Sadly he can't find the spats to go on the bumper. So with them missing it has made my decision for me and I gonna run the btcc style front bumper.

more bits turned up today. New lower ball joints to suit the cupra r bottom arms I got. Got to sand blast and paint them first. Lower arm rear spherical joint bushes too. I got the adjustable ones in my garage already. But they are the 30mm old type. Where as my arms are the later 45mm style. So a friend has some one making some sleaves to space the arm down to 30mm. This will also reduce the flex you would get in the 45mm bushes.
Also got a large amount of the gold heat reflective stuff. Going to cover the bulk head where the turbo is the boost pipes and any thing else . Trying to keep the heat under the bonnet and out the cab. It gets fooking hot In a naturally asperated car when racing let alone a boosted one with the turbo on the bulk head.

Right... back on track posting in the right place.
After ordering a new seat and a carbon diffuser set up I went to the workshop and again got the grinder out I started cutting the front bumper out and fitted the splitter. Bearing in mind every thing is just placed at the moment. I hung the bumper and closed the bonnet stood back and just had a slightly nodding head and a big smile....

And also sand the joining part off the fibreglass part so the fibreglass has a good chance of sticking to it it can be a bit rough it helps to be a good bond
Sorry if you know this but just tying to help

I used a grinder and flap wheel to taper off the fibreglass panel to help smooth it in and then using a course wire wheel I removed the paint from the door and to rough up the surface. Also used the resin to help stick the panel to the door as well..... I going to pop to work shop tonight to see how it all looks lol

Not a lot of progress been really busy at work doing 14-16hours a day. But been sanding the rear doors. Marked and drilled holes for the spoiler.... But every thing was just stacked on the floor. Been trying to find some racking and storage boxes. But for the mean time......

After sanding down the fibreglass in the doors I have now done a thin later of filler t9 help smooth them out.
Then I marked out where the rear arch will be on the car and then sanded back to bare metal in preparation to fitting the arch
Resized_20200203_212154_5501.jpg

Then when I was cleaning along the will I noticed how thick the sealer us so started removing that with a wire wheel. But now I am gonna start from the front of the soil and strip the lot

I redo it's a good kilo or so per side. Then also up I the arches and on the floor pans too... now I am sort of weighing up the costs of acid dipping to remove every thing . I have also noticed the car has had 2 new rear door as the base colour is black witch is garage primer. And then its got primer then purple... Then primer and then purple again do it's had a complete respray in its life at some point too

I know your ment to build some in s particular order. But when stuff pops up cheepish.. you gotta grab it. Near on full supertech set up... I just need to buy the valve guides then that's valves done... Just sort out catcam profiles I want. Then it's send the head off for all the work to be done
