Hi,
I don't think the the facelift has been sooo deep that it has modified the bodywork at floor mats location.
I would bet they're the same. If you get the P/N for the FL version, I can compare to ours on our non-FL version. ;)

Ah but did you have to buy them or were they free with the car.

BTW thinking about it. Yes people were buying rubber mats rather than the carpet mat that was free... they didn't have much else to do waiting for the car except buy accessories for it.

Hi,
Yes, the same for us. Textile carpets were included in car price and delivery, whereas rubber mats were to buy as accessories.
Rubber mats, are more ´kids-proof’ and time saving when you need to clean the car. 😁

My rubber mats use to get a hole in them where the heal sits on the peddle so I stuck with the free textile ones. Upgrading them depends on the grub, slush and mud in the area, passengers etc. Thought I'd let them wear out first.

Suspect they stuck with the same dimensions and anchor point. I know the Ateca ones were common to the Tiguan and Golf 7 at the time. Altea ones if you were making your own from universal mats, the carpet scissors would have to come out to fit. It was quite irregular down there least in a DSG. The joy of buying a new car sorting out the mats.

Probably the staff in HQs have fun assembling the accessory catalogue. Like a goody office stationery catalogue. The boot tray verses a non slip rubber mat is another one. Succumbed to the expensive reversible mat after everything was flying about in the boot on the carpet. Didn't see that one coming, a slippery boot carpet, least in the Ateca. People carrying grub like their boot trays.

I’ve found the carpet mats VW (and other VAG brands?) fit in their cars aren’t particularly durable.

I’ve had the OEM factory fit driver’s carpet mat in the VW’s I’ve owned over the years showing noticeable signs of wear after just a few months. I’m a low mileage driver (usually less than 5k miles a year) and I don’t consider I have ‘heavy heels’ to cause excessive wear either. By comparison I’ve found VW’s rubber mats to have very good durability, and the raised lip around the edge also helps contain any dirt and wetness. They’re easy to clean too - a quick wipe over and they’re pretty much like new again, even after 4-5 years of use. I also quite like the utilitarian look of the rubber mats So I tend to keep my rubber mats in my car all year round.
