Do you just need 2 blades to do this?

I have the remote key and the non remote that come with the car but the remote doesnt work. Tried changing the batteries but nothing.

Will I be ok to (attempt) to code a key without 'power' in the origional key?

Yes, as long as the transponder is working

Ah right thanks. is there any way I can test this? It starts the car fine and opens the door with the blade just cant use the buttons on the key

If your car starts and runs, the transponder is working.

hi people, i have a 433mhz key does any1 have alik to a key that would work?

ive just found this flip key on ebay and was wondering what everyone thought?
the advert states that there is no transponder or remote so will i need to do more than just transfer the chip over?

Just part exed my Mk3 ibiza for a 2008 1.9 TDI ibiza sportrider, i had the flip key done for my Mk3 but would like to do the same for my new Mk4 which i should be picking up next week.

I have read & read through this thread but i just keep losing the plot as to which key i need.

Can any one let me know what the standard key mhz is for a 2008 1.9 tdi

What flip key i will need to get ie: make / part number

Frequency is just on the side of the key mate

will be 434 or 433 with MHZ after it

Do you have a pic of where it will be ?

all mine says on the side of the key is CE

Then on the key blade it says W3 HAA

?

hmm that is strange how old is the key, possible it could have rubbed off? Althoug mine has managed 82000 and doesnt even look faded.

Not to sure what else you could do maybe try a dealer of VAG garage, or just take the risk and buy a flip key and hope for the best it will either be 434 or 433 maybe someone can enlighten us if you can use a 433 on a 434 etc?.

key is not old at all well not that i know of car has just done over 55,000 and its 56 plate , can you find out by reading with vagcom do you know ?

Not to sure sorry. Try asking Blanco92 he has VAG-Com so might be able to find out or already know

As far as I know, there is no way of telling with VCDS the frequency of the key.

However, I would have thought if you prised the key open, the frequency would be written somewhere on the remote part?
