fitting a 3 inch downpipe decat today. bought for 130 quid posted new on the bay from the states. cant get close to those prices here.
i have bought a spacer for the rear lambda sensor but not for the first sensor by the turbo. will that be enough to keep the engine check light off or do i need a spacer on the first sensor by the turbo as well? thanks

The one after the turbo you should never put a spacer on. If you do that the ECU will go crazy thinking air/fuel ratio is all ****ed up.
So spacer only the second lambda. Thats the one who checks how well the cat is working. (Or not in your case) So by putting a spacer on that you are only giving it a small amount of the unclean excaust gases.

Thanks passed it onto the mechanic and thats what we did. Just got car back and sound is impressive but not intrusive around town. Giving it welly brings out the throatiness which the cupra lacks imo.
Have a standard stage 1 map at present. Do i need to get it remapped to take account of the extra flow or will the ecu pick up on it. Having the s3 cooler fitted late next week and would prefer to do remap once thats done.

Heres a vid from the other night, although it actually sounds slightly nicer now its settled a bit!

Let me know what you all think, not me driving it ..... hence the poor launch lol

......... also didnt realise I have a reg bulb out :(

Really really like the sound of that, sounds a lot different to most other systems i've heard :)

Had mine finished yesterday, this is what it sounds like:

Sounds great, like it should. Standard our cars sound pants. Mate has a mk5 gti big standard but sounded much better than my cupra on idle and low revs. Will be giving him a visit later! Really pleased with my downpipe.
