No cutting or filing required with this one! All you need is a 13mm socket and a couple of drops of oil for the threads...

Edit: From first impressions it wipes much better as well, no juddering!

Just ordered the Leon Aero. I know it goes against the majority, but I think it look better than the slab........sorry Fabia wiper. [B)]

The key with any of these options is that each car varies and so some will fir no problems and others will require modification. I fitted the mk4 Polo wiper to my Ibiza and I actually bought it second hand from another Ibiza owner - despite the fact it had been working with no problems on his car, I had to modify for it to work on mine.

The 'proper' way to solve this would be to adjust the wiper spindle in the tailgate - some stick out more/less than others, but given how difficult the tailgate trim is to remove I'd rather trim the plastic cap off the wiper.

I think so too - not a fan of the skoda/audi look (altho 10x better than standard!).

Hope to fix my cap this weekend when I pick up a new one...

The aero looks better but its performance is rubbish. There's not enough tension to hold the last 2" (i.e. the part that's not directly under the housing) onto the window. It makes a racket in the dry and the wet.

That is 100% false when I think of mine.... sleeker than fabia, wipes with no resistance, doesn't racket one bit, cleans very well right the way to the tip... couldn't have asked for a better wiper tbh!

Went back to VW to pick up another Touran cap, trimmed it down to size and filed it smooth. Fitted the aero wiper and now all is good! Aero front and back so all looks good to me! I can post pics if anyone is interested?

- I do think that there should be a notice on the part-numbers sticky thread, that the Touran cap will not fit the LCR 225 without a bit of DIY (altho it is worth it in the end IMO).

Yeah I'm considering getting some Aero blades for the front, but I don't really have any problems with the regular ones as I use Rain-X so barely need to use the front wipers anyway!

what aero wipers on the front you thinking of getting? golf mk4?

Erm not sure, I just had a quick search on ebay and found some generic "Leon aero wipers"

I thought aero wipers were just the blades, like Bosch Aerotwins. I presumed I could just buy the correct lengths and they would be a direct replacement. Have I missed something here?

Sorry if the photos aren't very illustrative!

Edit: For those who are interested - front wipers from wiperblades and rear set from VW (part numbers in main sticky)
