in some ways yeah, but in other ways, No.

You win the argument over the Altea and Toledo though. I think when you see it in the flesh, you'll be plesently surprised by the Leon, not, IMHO as crisp as the original Leon when it came out, but still pretty smart.

Well i guess should really wait to see it in the Flesh and test drive! But to be honestly i prefer the look of the Altea than the New Leon!

seen all the latest pics for the first time today ... wasn't expecting to like it that much but I do ... can't wait to see what the top end diesel will look like  . if the car launches around september 05, do you think we'll see the Cupra's / FR's early 06 or will it be later :( .

it looks good to me in its basic form so should hopefully look even better tarted up, and if it's married to a 170 TDi I'll be VERY happy indeed :D . I know what a lot of you are saying about cheaper plastics etc, but seems to be the way most goods are going now ... including cars. they want to get away with the 'best cheapest' interiors (and bits of the exterior as well) they can, same as TV's ... made of cheaper and cheaper plastics.

I love my FR TDi, but when you see a new shape the current one can't help but start to look a bit dated :hide: .

Agreed mate, look at the new Golf, the interior looks good but the plastics look cheaper.

Autocar seems to think the Cupra will be towards the end of next year in their list of release dates for all the new cars, the non Cupra models will be Autumn

well if we look further than vag products u will actually find they are using better plastics now.

new focus looks better than any vag product.

mazda 6 i was in the other day was nicely built.

new honda accord was really nice inside

seat are way behind in terms of interior quality, which is not acceptable nowadays ,and definatly not for the new golf gti which is 20k , why would u pay 20k for a golf ?

vw are no better than skoda seat anymore.

hell ive driven a big kia sorento 4x4 and that thing put a toyota landcruiser to shame in terms of build quality and value for money , i was shocked that it was built so well and had every thing in it for 20k tiptronic sat nav motorised leathers climate etc.

judging by the interior pic of the new leon the plastics are shite,

people who slag off fords should take a closer look

i'm a ford fan but the current fiesta's interior is shocking!
skoda and seat are much superior.

the facelift fiesta (out late this year) will have updated interior though.

I love the new leon but wish they'd kept the interior like the prototype. it does look like the current ibiza's interior....not too bad.

I'm hoping to pick up a cracking deal on a current shape leon cupra r when the new one is released :D

Saw a new Leon at the dealer on Monday, was in black - no real chance to have a good look as it was being cleaned up in the service bay. Just come in.

See it at David Cook Motors in Oldham, Lancs - tasty looking, more striking than the Citroen C4 and much more grown up looking!

Liked it!
