yeah sounds like a plan to me that does. Yeah the damp air is what i thought. its good to have some cold air now though keeps the inlet temps down.

ok, another update.........

Plugs and coils have now been replaced. Guess what......no fookin difference!!!

I'm out of ideas now. I can't understand what's going wrong. I've changed all the most likely candidates and still the problem remains. Unless anyone can suggest anything else to try, I think i'll be taking it to a specialist.

Just to recap the problem, in 5th gear only, 120mph or over (5k rpm), come off the accelerator, car starts shuddering, vacuum pressure goes nuts (not boost) and feels like the car is about die. Once it's coasted down under 5k rpm, it sorts itself out.

Don't suppose it's anything to do with back pressure in the exhaust is it?
Blocked CAT or something?

Yeah it was mate. I'd been waiting for some parts to turn up at a VW dealership and they arrived so got it done.
Would have been nice if I could have made it cos I could have asked the chaps at Storm for their opinion. Maybe putting it on there RR would have highlighted the problem. I think there were some free spaces as well which is even more of a shame.

I tried doing some logs with Copra, another member from here, but we had problems with the cable and it would only read fault codes, not the logging side of things. Logging would be good and I have posted asking if anyone could help, but judging by the things that go wrong with these cars, I think everyone's busy fixing their own pride & joy, lol. Don't supose you know anyone that could help do you? I don't mind travelling, I just want to get this sorted now.
