Dump valve or not?

Hi guys and gals!! I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this, I was thinking of installing a dump valve on my LCR 210 03 model, but I have heard that they can stuff up the turbo!! Is there any truth in this? And is there a specific dump valve that is particurly good on the LCR?
Cheers for the help peeps!!!:D

ok, firstly you need to understand that you already have what is commonly called a dump valve.
They are not loud as the oem dump valve diverts the air back into the air intake rather than dumping it to atmospere. (so may be called a diverter valve)
If the air is dumped to atmosphere its usually louder.

Now, many have changed this to dump to atmosphere and many of these will report no issues. However the ECU uses an air mass sensor (maf) in the air intake and is expecting this air to be 'reused'. So if you change it to dump the air then the air actually entering the intake will have to increase slightly, which may affect the fuel /air ratio, and in some cases may lead to a fault light.

There is so much info on here regarding DVs if you have a look.

The forge 007p diverter valve is very common on here, reliable and a great bit of kit. It replaces the oem diverter valve and does the same job.
If you want it louder, then id advise fitting an induction kit.

There is also the Split R valve which is sort of half blow off to atmos and half recirc. So it's much louder, but as said above you could get some issues between the maf and ecu. It seems like pot luck though. It works fine with some, and not with others.

But most people go with the Forge 007P(which I have) or the Bailey DV30. Both very good.

I have the Split-r on mine, its noticably louder and works fine too. But as it has been said a few people on here have had problems.
