My car is now back from the crash repair garage and I'm far from happy with the work they've carried out. When i first arrived i was told that the insurance company had told them to collect the excess from me (£550) before releasing the car. The accident wasn't my fault, however as the other party is contesting liability for the accident and as of yet it's unresolved... i will have to front the excess until it is, that was a nice a surprise.
I had a quick look around the car while i was there and i couldn't see any faults in it. its wasn't until i had a look the following day in natural light did i see that the area surrounded the S
badge has a series in what can only be described as randomly placed recesses in the bumper. On top of that i also noticed an area of the lower part of the bumper had little or no lacquer. So I took the car back and raised my issues i had with the finish with the manager and he agree it wasn't acceptable, my point was why wasn't this picked up in the "quality control" procedure? His excuse for the recesses in the bumper shape was that some injection moulding bumpers have these imperfection, if this is the case then why didn't they send it back and request a replacement?
Now his suggested solution was that they would smooth the affected area of the bumper and respray and fill in these recesses with paint. Surely this should have been done in the first instance?
The thing which has me worried is the way he was talking he could guarantee this would make it "perfect", i expect nothing less than a perfect finish and i will fight for it as long as is necessary.
I've been told it will take 2 days to rectify which means i will be without a car while they sort it out.
Here's a few pictures of her after a good wash from the weekend
