No worries.

Thanks. Still lots more to come. Catch can and PCV delete will be very soon when I get a free minute. And will put my polished manifold on at the same time.

Also awaiting the return of one of my new wheels as it had a blemish and they will go on too.

So a little more progress today with the catch can project. Drilled a couple of holes in the battery cover then cleaned it up and mounted the oil catch can...

And then in the engine bay....

Just need a bit of time to plumb her in and get rid of the old pcv system. Will take the old manifold off to allow access and fit the polished one while I'm there

Cheers dude. That's always been the plan to keep it as oem as possible and usable. Subtle but with purpose!

Right so the latest update is the catch can being plumbed in, old PCV system deleted and my polished manifold from DK fitted. Was a very busy evening the other night and a few hiccups along the way but overall very happy in the end.

Started by taking everything out of the way...

And seeing all of the funk and sludge inside I'm glad I have decided to go down this route...

Firstly I plumbed the catch can outlet into the TIP and went for hose finishers for a better look.

Then removed the elbow off of the oil filter housing from the old system and ran the new hoses into the catch can and rocker cover as well.

Got it all cut to length and in place where I was happy with it. Used fluro lined hose for this due to the oily vapour that will be inside it. Due to this the hose was a couple mm larger and the hose finishers did not fit so still waiting for those at the moment, jubilee clips will have to do for now.

The polished manifold from DK....

Started by capping off a vac source that won't be used.

Then running new vac hoses from the FPR and vacuum reservoir..

Then I could fit the new manifold on..

Then had a hiccup :( when doing up the catch can pipe work I double checked the oil filter elbow and noticed it was cracked and split....

Had to order another one which delayed things a bit.

This came the next day express delivery...

Which meant I could finish the install...

Like I said earlier the hose finishes will be used to replace the ugly looking jubilee clips when they arrive.

All that was left now was to cut the one way valve out of the old system...

Cap off the third unused hole..

c8970c32cc32ff144cfcfacbd1102895.jpg

(It was cut down to a better size after I made sure I had hoses and caps to fit)

Then this was put inline on the hose coming off of the left side of the manifold.

Job done!

Been finishing off the catch can install after finishing touches arrived.

Popped this in replacement of the sump plug bolt I used to cap a vac source when I relocated the one way valve from the PCV delete.

Then needed to swap the jubilee clips for the catch can with these.

Look much better than before.

Thanks guys it's really getting there. Few little bits and bobs in the bay and that's done.

Just waiting for my replacement wheel from team dynamics to arrive then I will be wrapping them in new rubber, sealing them and putting them on. Excited about that!

It's what I currently have but wanted a new set for the new wheels. Really rate them especially in the wet!

So it looks like more expense coming my way. Pads are looking very low on the front and the disks are in need of a change too.

That means il be ordering EBC ultimax disks, ferodo ds2500 pads, will do red Hel braided lines while I'm there and a complete fluid flush through.

Bill at badger 5 has quoted me already so will order later in the week.

Cheers for that, just looked at his Facebook page and the workmanship looks second to none :D
Think I might get a few bits done as I was thinking about painting it myself but that looks much better

Cheers Josh. It's come quite along way this year to be honest.

Few more things still to come but will have to have a break soon as the Mrs will kill me if I keep up the spending pattern.

Next up will be wheels when my last one finally arrives.

Acquired some forge strut caps and a jabba heat shield so just need to decide on what filter to run (so much choice) and a very rare boot tidy. They should come next week I'm hoping.

Then in next couple months will defo have to do brakes.

Got braided lines ready so just need to sort disks pads and fluid.

All fun and games.
