Dealers washing the car at service

come to think of it, when I bought my LCR a couple weeks ago and saw swirling on the blokes bonnet i asked him and he said he had never seen that before. Now I have read what you guys have posted here about dealers cleanig cars it makes sense now, and you know the other thing, they forgot to reset the service light TWONKS!!!!

Where abouts in the country are you speedsix? I'm a detailer and if you are local I'd be happy to give you a quote on de-swirling the car. I'd be wary of letting them do it simply because cars we see from dealerships (and a lot of bodyshops) are covered in holograms, buffer trails, etc. Its disgusting. They often give an untrained person a cheap rotary polisher (which is the hardest to use properly), they grab a bottle of aggresive product and go at it like mad.

Its very fixable, but not cheap, and equally easy to make worse in the wrong hands.

i once got my first leon back half washed
and when i say that, i mean, HALF the car was washed.


mind you, VW are not immune either, once they chipped the paintwork on my corrado, they admitted it and took it back in to go to the body shop.
came back, got the phone call all ready to pick up just washing the car.

what do i find, a fantastic repair couldnt fault it, however there was now a scratch right across the bonnet from the cleaning. However they admitted it which is a first with me, but like all the others they didnt volunteer this information!

Sixspeed, the steeler will not want you to take the car else where as they will have to pay retail.

Remebr it is your car and their poor servicethat has caused the damage.

Make them pay for the repair where you are happy for it to go!

Do not pay for it yourself and write letters if you have to!!!!

They only way the steeler will learn to folow customers instructions and look after peoples cars is by costing them when they do not!!!!
