The Snow Foam Lance is such a good piece of kit isn't it! I personally use Super Snow Foam with my lance, that gives a very effective covering, without stripping wax etc. I haven't seen the PH neutral product before, so I think I might give this ago next, as it seems to have very good write ups when referring to its strength in cutting through grime effectively; it looks like it got right to it in your pictures?

The car is looking tops as always Darren. Happy New Year!

James.

Thanks James and happy new year mate :D

TBH I was'nt that impressed with the snow foam :(
There was about 3 weeks worth of dirt on the car, it was only spray from driving on wet greasy roads but the SF did'nt touch it, even after 2 coats it still did'nt even softern it, I ended up spraying it on the car and then going over a wash mit and shampoo, I spoke to Maz after and he suggested maybe spraying it with a pre wash cleaner like Auto Finesse Citrus Power which I've got.

Nice purchases there Darren although you can't really call that dirt. I will bring my dirt bag down and then you can test this stuff ;)

Happy new year mate!

Happy new year El :D
Mate by my standerds it was rottern :D

Mmmm a wet LCR :D

So you happy with the purchases then mate? Thinking of getting the lance sorted out next year and foaming up my LCR ;)

from everything I've read mate they are well worth having ;)

Still not had a chance to try my other new products due to the poxy weather [:@]

I poped over to AmD a couple of weeks ago to do a bit of logging, The cars was somtimes feelinga bit flat and laggy, it would do this on and during a drive, the log's as expected were low, it pulled around 206G's which we worked out to be around 256BHP, I know the car is better than that
I had 2 suspicion's as to what might be causing the loose of power;
A) MAF could be on it's way out, I read somewhere (Dont know how true this is) that the expected life of a MAF is around 40k.
B) the car is due a 20k service naext month, it's only done about 10k since the plugs were last changed but this was 2 years ago.
So yestarday I purchsed a new genuine Bosch MAF, fitted it this morning and took it for a little drive  and the power is back :funk: where before it would intermitently feel a bit laggy it's now bang on boost as soon as you press the pedal :D

Whilst I was doing the MAF I decided to vac the panel fillter and clean out the airbox, unfortunatly this time I picked up the drill rather than the hover :D

Before, around 75ish 10mm holes

After, it's now got around 225 10mm holes

This has increased the DV and induction noise, the car pulled really nice today so I dont think it's had any bad side effect's

Blimey Darren, you went a bit nuts on the drilling. Good to hear the cars running better. It's interesting that there are a few bits on the car which can really bring the power down yet they are pretty difficult to spot. The MAF, n75 valve etc etc. any recommendations on where to get a new MAF?

My MAF got changed on the AMD rolling road day made a big difference to the rolling road results they showed me just how dusty the old one was so glad i changed it

it could be the coil packs i bet thats making it feel slow and lumpy if they are getting old it can feel slow and lumpy when you accelerate

one of mine popped the other day no.1 they are supposed to go after a remap but mine never did well over a year and a bit, i decided to change all the coils at the same time as no.3 had been changed in service history but 2 & 4 were original and wow what a difference it has made much better perhaps some of yours could do with changing? i also had a new thermostat fitted but not sure if this made any real difference to power delivery

lol the air box mods someone got carried away! your better off with jetex and jabbasport heat shield im loving mine over the standard airbox don't miss it at all now was a firm believer in airbox but not any more

I might be able to get hold of another one if you want one EL.

It'll be getting new oil, filter's and plugs next month but I'll keep an eye on the coil pack's.
I did have a Jetex, it was only on for 2 days but I did'nt really like the way it looked in my engine bay, mine also seems to run better with the airbox :)

TBH mate it kind of is, but apart from a cone filter theres not really any other way to improve the induction system, besides when its fitted you cant see all the holes ;)

Could you not look into more cold air intakes? It wouldn't help much on the rolling road but if the air was pressurised i.e forced into the airbox rather than letting the air be drawn in then it might go some way towards over coming the restrictions of the airbox.

I am looking at improving my cold air feed but I'm pretty happy with the airbox, it's always made good power on the dyno and when we logged it a while ago it pulled good G's.
Theres not really many opitions on types of filter's availible,
Open cone, suck's in hot air but sound good, personally I dont like the way they sit in the bay.
Enclosed cones, many are too small and too resrictive for the amount of power LCR can make.
Modded airbox, it might suck in some hot air, sounds almost as good as an open cone and it's FREE :D
