Cupra R Noises from the front wheels

Hi
I have recently purchased a Cupra R from my local seatt dealer and i have had strange noises coming from the front of my car ever since i have had it. to me it sounds like my ball joints have gone but they seem to think there is nothing wrong with it.

A sort of clunking noise comes from the front of the car sometimes when i accelerate, brake, turn, go over bumps and reverse.

If anyone has any info or advice that would be great coz i have no idea what it is.

Look forward to your replys

I'd get it straight back to where you bought it from and get one of their grease monkeys to come out in it with you to demonstrate.

Is it high milage?

no its only got 36K so it aint that high its a 53 plate.

Yeah i might have to do that but i have done that twice before and still they say theres nothing wrong with it the last thing they told me was that it was air pockets in the brembo breaks which is complete Cr*p.

Thanks i will go and rare up i think might get something done then hopefully.

Cheers

There will be a clonk from the breaks when you change directions as the Brembo's are free floating so they clonk on and off this is normal. (was told this by James at JBS)

Check and see if it does it from both sides? Mine does it when I manovour from reverse to forward and back again. Mine is an 04 plate on 37000, the more the breaks are worn the louder it seems to get as they have further to travel.

Hope this helps. Its like a metal on metal clunk right?

Mine is a 52 Reg on 40K and i have never heard such a noise.

Is it just 225's tho???

The only probs I have is creaky suspension but that seems normal.

Agree, get it back to them to sort it and dont take any excuse for an answer

Don't know mate....

I was worried about it until I went for CCing at JBS and when James was manouvoring my car there was this clonking noise by the breaks...

I asked what is was and he said its the free floating Brembo's clamping back onto the disk? Mine does it loads and not worried at all about it. :)

Ok well mine does not do that??? It is only straight after changing direction?

I would get it checked out again as it sounds like a little more than that. I can understand why the dealer says its not a problem but they should have told you the reason why rather than just saying it is fine or there was an air lock in the breaks???? I mean :wtf: Let us know how you get on....

First thing though get your brakes checked out.

No worries James good luck. The biggest thing I found with the dealer was convincing them I knew best and once that was done things got sorted quickly. I had all sorts of problems with damage with my wheels and problems with wheel bearings and fans etc.... etc.....
