rrect! And yes, I’m so worried about my alloys, tempted to get AlloyGators just to save face, as much as they won’t look as good. I was kept straight in my Skoda as that only had 15’s and plenty of tyre space unlike the thin strips now! The suspension and steering in CUPRA mode is really cool, will also take me a little bit to get used to from the Skoda’s.
I was looking at the Alloys and thinking of that but looking further at the alloys the Diamond cut then dips so not sure if gators will fit to be honest, i do have red gator`s i was going to put on an older car but didnt maybe il look if they would fit got a feeling those go in a pot hole they gonna get like my knees when i first rode a bike :oops:

I know! I can think of plenty of places in my local area and more surprisingly in the big cities such as Glasgow, where I drive to a lot, where I can see these getting some dinks.

I’ll try and grab some better pictures at some point tomorrow before dark, too. Really happy with my colour choice, thought the black was going to be a bit dull but it’s slightly pearlescent and looks so good in the light.

I personally wouldn’t fit AlloyGators.

I’m not sure if it’s AlloyGators or a similar product, but there’s one manufacturer of this type of alloy wheel protection product where I can recall they state they’re not suitable for diamond cut alloys. Also, with the method of fixing these to the wheels (hammering on, albeit with a ‘soft’ hammer), I’d envisage there may be a risk of damaging the lacquered surface around the edge of the alloy and if this happens, white worm corrosion could breed undetected under the AlloyGator. This could also happen if grit gets between the AlloyGator and the wheel, and the grit damages the lacquer on the alloy, allowing moisture to get under the lacquer. I don’t know if I’d trust some tyre fitters to remove an AlloyGator and then refit it without causing damage when fitting new tyres either.

Additionally, AlloyGators can work loose and cause significant damage to the car’s bodywork when the loose end slaps against the adjacent body panels with each rotation of the wheel. Check out the picture of the black VW Polo wing and door near the end of the discussion thread at the link below;

No Irfy like all Self unlock systems, but if you unlock and walk away it will lock itself (without opening doors) Also your Cupra App will update you off the doors, locked or unlocked. Also when locked KESSY, unlocks when pulling the handle, but will lock also when you tap the outside of the handle, pretty neat :)

Ouch that car looks like its been attacked by some asbo with a plastic spoon. Thinking yep im going to need to look at alternative solutions for these Diamond cut, looks insurance ,may be Way to go but the cost is it really worth it i pay over the 4 years i could get then refurbed for less the cost over that time anyhow,.

Wow, that's definitely a no-go then!

It's probably best just to drive carefully then. Extra time going round corners!

Yes all I do I remember kerbing a car once in the 4 year I had it my mrs kirbed my car the rest of time yet she didnt admit to it. She drove over a 6.inch kerb once and then service engineer couldnt understand how my underside splash guard was crumbled up.But the tech inside is scaring the life out of her to be honest she drives a bog standard suzuki celerio and shes scared of driving it.

If buying alloy wheel insurance, make sure that the policy you buy covers diamond cut alloys as it used to commonplace that some of these policies excluded them.

Does anyone know where to find the settings for the regenerative braking and how effective you want the system? I've been trying to find for ages and I'm convinced I seen on YouTube there was options on the infotainment screen somewhere!

Old meets the new on the driveway before my first car was taken back today... Big upgrade to say the least :ROFLMAO: Also some pics of the car in a more photogenic setting.

So how is everyone fairing with their new cars so far?
I’ve tested positive after showing symptoms for COVID so unfortunately haven’t been able to take it on the journeys I had planned this weekend ☹️, doesn’t stop me just driving about myself around the local area though!

So far so good only drove around 40 miles so far no problems but the weather got cold so only getting 18 miles from the battery.
Yes that's the problem cold weather I put it more on engine for motorway(dont stick hybrid) Ckick the cogs to the right of it to activate the ICE. And keep battery for local 30 zones built up areas etc get around 50 to 80mpg on combined but heating and lights etc take its toll unfortunarky
