Cupra connect - unable to proceed after scanning QR code

Hello,

I just recently purchased a 2022 model Cupra Born. I have been trying to connect my car to my phone via the Cupra Connect, and My Cupra app. However, after going into the car's infotainment system and generating the QR code to scan - I then scan the code from the app after entering the correct VIN number, but every time i get the message "There is a problem in our system. Please try again later".

I have tried factory resetting the infotainment system, deleting and reinstalling the app, and logging in and out of the app, but nothing works.

If anyone have a solution to this problem, please do help - thank you in advance

Well it could be a temporary issue with their servers or some missing bit of information the dealer needs to do to start it off. I'd go back to the dealer. All Vag cars go through a mothership back in Germany or wherever it's contracted out. Feels like a missing ID that the dealer needs to instigate to me to say this car has been sold or just a temporary server issue. Alternatively the vagueries of the screens. If it's secondhand probably something they have to do to allow it to be passed on ?.

Thank you for the response.

I have tried looking online to find any information regarding server status with no luck - if you somewhere i can check this please share.

It was purchased second hand, and the previous owner says he never bothered to set up the connection with the phone. Regardless as far as i have found out, a reset of the infotainment system should reset the users and as such, I have thought it not to be likely that the problem is because someone else is connected to it
