They were the 17" FR+ versions and needed a refurb. I really like them but they are dull greyish colour and i just fancied a change, i actually made money from changing wheels so plus im happy with them.

yup, i saw that, they 're the fr special edition, right?
here in portugal it's the name off that version, a look lcr with lcr 17' monting a 1.9tdi motor.

okay, what matters is that you're happy with the swap, because the car is yours, and you do have to like. :)

jom 40mm lowering kit shocks and springs, has lowered it but waiting for it to settle, the kits pretty good quality, fitted easy and the rides pretty good, it seems alittle bouncy/soft but its bedding in so getting better, rides well tho tracking done and ok and no rubbing issues aswell, very pleased for a budget kit.

Been thinking of vinyl wrapping my mirror covers in carbon fibre effect but unsure, what do you think it will look like, good or cheap and tacky...........?

Your car's looking really good mate. Good job on the wheels :)

I thought about covering my mirrors in a carbon fibre vinyl but thought it may look funny as the vinyl would have to be stretched to fit the mirror. You could always give it a go just to see what It'd look like.

Yeh just grab a corner and pull it off, helps if you heat it up, but only a little as the glue gets sticky and stays on the bodywork making it a pain to get off, then just keep pulling slowly, when you get near the bottom just unclip the door sel, it pulls up and out just on the corner to get the vinyl from under there, then clean and polish. :)

Little probs tho, cv boots on both front have gone and sprayed cv grease everywhere all inside my nice shiney new wheels and cv grease is the worst to get off, guna fit two new boots tomorrow then get cleaning arrrrgggggg

RIght guys, update time, no real mods done to the leon but will hopefully get it mapped soon, maybe a christmas present to myself, but i did have a very good day today.

Started at 8am with marc (CupraElliott) at his house where we spent until 8pm tonight fully detailing the car. Whilst marc spent all his time on correcting my poor paint work, i took the time to remove all the wheels and paint my calipers red, also cleaned all wheels and polished with autoglym SRP and then a coat of megs mirror glaze. Marc got most of the correction done but another 8am start tomorrow to do final correction and trims and hoover and clean the inside. :) will post pics when all done.
