I spoke to craigus on here and he said he can do it for me for a fair price but just trying to organise a time n date to get it done, nope still looks bad as ever on the roof, the whole car looks grey tho and in the sunlight today the swirls were awful you can see them on the pics :( and to top it off had 4 in the car today and tried to get out of the passanger rear door and wont open from the inside, fine from the outside and child locks are on, so another problem, plus i think my intercooler hose has popped off for the 3rd time  damn stupid pipes.

Still i love it drives great and looks and economy together ordered a pillar pod to house my gauge today so i can finally put my a pillar back on lol was only £7.50 too :)

Ok got my pillar pod yesterday and decided to fit it on my dinner today, was a universal one that needed alot of trimming, used a die grinder with grinding wheel to shape the pod to fit the A pillar trim then double sided sticky taped it to the A pillar, looks pretty good and holds the gauge in a nice place :)

Also toying with the idea of L.E.D strip lights to go around the fog lights, thinking of wiring them into the sidelights with a switch so that they can be turned off if wanted, heres some pics as an idea (ignore the wiring as its straight onto a battery to power the lights), what do you think ....yes or no im in two minds wether they look good or chavtastic boy racer.

Quite like the lights around the fogs, they look a bit dimmer in the 1st image than in the 2nd... having them a bit dimmer would be nice. Meant to ask where you got your HIDs from and how much? Wasnt suyre if you got them from Diane Shop? The sidelights are way too blue wiothout the HIDs haha.

MJ89 - Not sure where Craig got his filter but I got myne from Badger 5 on here... top service, ordered tue night, it turned up thurs morning, cheapest I could find aswel.

I'd get the wipers from the dealer ......... All nice and new with new blades etc. At least you know it isn't worn and that it won't slip round on the splines or anything of that sort. Its not exactly a pricey upgrade.

I got the HID kit from diane shop about £45, got my last two sets from there and there good quality had some on my old mk3 cupra for 2 years with only one replacement bulb, i also got the panel filter from badger 5 great service and as said quick delivery:) and the rear wiper i got off a sales car at work hence missing the cap cover, im guna go buy a cover and a new blade as it doesnt clean very well.

Car was washed today also, ready for machine polishing tomorrow with SRP, im a new meber on detailingworld and trying to get my head round things, ive been told SRP (auto glym super resin polish) is good as contains fillers to hide scratches and swirls and the more applications the better, just until i can pay to get a full paint correction done. Will hopefully get some new pics up tomorrow weather permitting.

Detailed Today

Well i finally got round to getting the car propperly cleaned today, first time since i bought it, im no expert detailer but gave the car a good going over.

Car was washed last night to save some time today.
Spent since 9am this morning til 3pm this afternoon and im knackered.

PLEASE NOTE, i did not do the wheels, they were washed the day before but i was concentrating to get the bodywork done as more important as i might be changing wheels. They will hovwever be getting the same treatment hopefully next weekend.

Products Used
Autoglym bodywork shampoo
Autoglym super resin polish (SRP)
Autoglym extra gloss protection (EG)
Window Polish
Meguiars Smooth Clay Bar Kit

Before i started i went round to car to remove dust from sitting over night, polished windows inside and out, cleaned dash and all trim panels and hoovered.

Started with the clay. Now ive never used clay bar before and thought i would give it ago on the leon as the bottoms of the doors felt like sandpaper and non of the body panels felt smooth. Found the meguiars kit very good as a starter kit, and WOW  is all i can say... Ill let the pics do the rest for this...

As you can see what a difference it now feels soo smooth like glass, and even using a clean side of the clay bar this is what came off the door, its shocking ................. :headhurt:

DSC00177.jpg

As you can see it was shocking, after i went over the whole car with the clay bar and megs lube i buffed it all off ready for polish.

I was using a dual action polisher i have, just a cheap argos one and i used SRP because its good to mask swirls and scratches as i dont have a decent PC to actually remove the swirl marks. The SRP is good as it contains fillers and also polish and a sealant.

I applied the SRP with the polisher to a panel at a time then buffed off with a microfibre cloth, when i had done the whole car once......i then started again and did the whole car over.

Once that was done i applied the autoglym EG. This is a liquid type wax and goes on very easily using a microfibre applicator. Wipe on and then leave to cure for 30-60mins. Then easily buffed off to give a great deep shine.

Hard work rewarded I'd say...... looks excellent mate. I think I'll be doing mine but won't get a chance until week after next. I've used the same clay bar kit as you did and its excellent.

Now go an buy a wiper bolt cover thingy cover and the tow hook cover!!! Look, I've even got the part numbers for you  :-

Skoda part - 6Y6955435 - Wiper cover from Fabia Estate (£2.50)
Rear Towing eye cover - 1ML 807 928 (01/02-05/06 79Y in anthracite)

Thinking of doing the same with the calipers at tho mo. Want to go with red but a tad aprehensive as don't want my car to look 'max power' or chavvy for it.

Right time for an update, after seeing coog's car in the for sale section i just loved his wheels, and lucky a set came up on fleabay so went and picked them up yesterday night, i was surprised that they are lighter than the standard ones even tho bigger. They are in need of a refurb to the outer chrome edge but in over all good condition.
2 tyres are ok 1's legal and the other knackered, so i took the two off and im putting 2 new ones on at work, only cost me £90 for the pair at cost price for Marshall 225/40/18's.

Well heres a few pics :)
