^^ what LEE69 says. Def a driver issue. When I first tried to use vagcom I hadn't installed the cable drivers yet, but upon doing so all was ok. And this also allowed this new prog to work.

Just got my ebay cable just this morning and have just attempted it. Managed to get both the alarm and the windows working fine, although the range on my remote is so small that I might as well just get in :) Still deciding about the lock/unlock sounds, so we will see. Thanks to the chap who posted it initially. I tried it on my old XP laptop and nearly sh@t a brick when the battery died when in about to save changes to the CCM. Luckily it hadnt started... So wheeled out a huge 50m extension just to make sure :) Might give it a shot on my work laptop, as thats much newer (and has a battery that works)...

Ginger, seeing as you are local, let me know if you want me to try on your car. More than welcome, but if you are still up for seeing Greesha tomorrow then thats cool. I'm free whenever, so drop me a PM or something.

Tried this aswell as i received my cable. Downloaded the program, registered and then connected it to my car. Went throught the process and 2mins later all was well. Windows going up and down with the remote. :D

those of you who have done this, is it working for you CONSISTENTLY without problems?

Its working on my 04 LCR, however not all the time, around 80% of the time it works but after testing there are some instances where it doesn't work, no matter how long i hold the button for, i then press it again and hold and it will work, and some times on the second press it wont work

for me its not 100% working all the time

anyone else notice this?

Yep, I havn't tested it, but I'm pretty sure its distance based. When I've been to far away the car will only lock / unlock, but closer the windows will operate too :)

Mine seems to work fairly consistently. I have tested it from inside my house upstairs, across the driveway to the other side of the road and it still works (about 20m).

mine isnt distance based, it hasn't worked from the same distance as when it does work, for me anyway
