Considering buying a 2010 Cupra R

Hi im considering buying a Cupra R its 2010 with 25k looks in very good condition its advertised for £14250.

However i went to see it last weekend and the dealer told me it had a problem with an injector and it was to be replaced, so i couldnt test drive it he said it was to be replaced on tuesday but ive noticed it advertised for about 3 weeks and i think its strange that they wudnt replace the injector before advertising. Anyways i wanted to ask your opinion on the price and about the injector issue?

That price looks fair from what I have seen, but i'd maybe see what some of the Cupra R owners have to say

When i was thinking of selling mine I was thinking of 16k and mines a 2011 with 20k so price sounds OK

not sure on the injector issue not very common on them

I sold mine just over a test ago and it was a 10 plate with 19k on trade in I struggled to get near £13k anywhere and it was retailed around £14.5k
So going by that it's not the cheapest car in the world and if your not 100% walk away

Regarding the injector issues there not common but do happen. I don't have the R but my 2010 Cupra needed 2 injectors replaced. Was a fair chunk of cash on something I only had a few months but that's just life lol.

I think the price for the advertised car is fair enough. I paid 16.5k for mine with 9k on the clock just 2 months ago from a Seat franchise.

Regarding the injectors, never knew these can be a problem I thought it was the diesel injectors that were a nightmare.

I gave £17.5k for a 2012 with 13k on it so seems pretty fair. It does have front censors on it they are only just visible. Wait until the injectors are done and go back and test drive it. If you have any doubts then walk away as said before and keep hunting

Exhaust doesn't look aligned at the back, tail pipes seem to be at one side, anther forum member found that his back box (iirc) had taken a knock so it was straight, so I'd check that out

thanks for the reply's yes it is the one in wilsons rathkenny and thats well spotted about the tail pipes at the back have to have a close look there. Are there any other things i should look out for on this model.

could just need to be re-aligned, but if I was the garage I wouldnt want to up-load pics where the exhaust didnt look right lol

i'd maybe ask them to check the condition of the cam follower to see if theres any wear on it, i'd check the side bolsters on the seats too cos some people have had problems with them sagging, can't really think of anything else tbf.

Bit obvious I suppose but check the tyres for sidewall damage.....our seats have been ok and I'm a chunky monkey (aka fat).. And make friends with your local petrol station....
And don't listen to Betty he's got no taste
