Went to the stealer about this last night. They told me it is a "feature". Pisses me off somewhat rotten so I might have to have a tinker myself.

The Service manager told me the clunk is because the pad is designed with space to move. This is because they get extremely hot and need space to expand.

Copper grease sounds like the answer!

I'm wonering if the spring that is supposed to hold the brake pad in the calliper is actually pushing the pad against the disk. This ould give a slight braking effect. I had five minutes so jacked the car up and tried to spin the wheel, it managed half a rotation. when i get chance i'm going to take the pads off and try spinning the wheel. The clunking noise could be the calliper clunking against the pad. just a thought

Just a feature my ass, i get the clunking noise occur even more when it's hot.
If they expanded that much the pad would be solid in the calliper. He's fobbing you off.

Right.....

I was told by Awesome that the clunking is the locating pins? as in that they might be miss fitted or coming loose. He advised to get them checked at my next service...

But I was also told it was due to the free floating calipers by James at JBS and its nothing to worry about so from this I would take it that there is nothing to worry about but worth getting it checked out. :)

Hope my experience helps.

The standard Brembo's have spacer plates as guides/sliders.
If yours don't then buy some, mine don't do this and never have since fitting aftermarket pads
