hi all, im learning by the day about clutches as up until my clutch started slipping a few weeks ago i didnt have the first clue. iv heard all i need to hear about southbend, sach, helix & awesome gti so can we try to avoid the carnage of the last thread similar to this please :)
at a glance, what are peoples thoughts on these kits?? im looking to buy a good sturdy clutch kit, for a reasonable price, and i want to get it right first time if possible lol. if CG motorsport would like the opportunity to answer a few questions that would be great! if anyone thinks iv missed anything or would like to add to these questions then feel free, cheers

1. which would be best for my 1.9tdi leon fr mk1 that is re-mapped to 185bhp 300lb/ft?
2. how many of each kit have you sold roughly and what has the feedback been like?
3. what sort of average life span are you looking at?
4. what amount of power can these kits handle?
5. how much for fitting?
6. what does your warranty cover and how long does it last?

The CG Motorsport 6 paddle competition clutch kit = £280.00
The dual mass flywheel = £299.00
The LUK concentric slave cylinder £50.00
or the complete set = £599.00

we also make a South bend alternative
This consists of The 6 paddle sprung clutch kit
The LUK slave cylinder
and Our single mass flywheel
All built by our company
CG Motorsport
= £700.00
This is only sold as a complete unit as we custom make these parts (not the slave)

My recommendation is SACHS and if you have the funds and want the best, then have a look at the SACHS SRE (performance) range.

These are not cheap - But they are very very good.

Have a look at darkside developments.

components are Sachs branded, buy the clutch with release bearing for £310 or with a new dmf for £510, clutch is rated for 370ft/lb so should be fine if your not putting more power through it

I've tried contacting cg before and they couldnt answer simple questions like whats the max torque the clutch can handle. Avoid them.

I have cg motorsport in my leon tdi which was remapped straight after I installed it. 25.000 miles after is still holds up ok but its staring to make strange squicking noise when I am taking off.
And the clutchs bitepoint is very high so i think 5000 miles more and it will die....

i'd be quite happy to get 25/30k out of a clutch that only cost a few hundred quid tbh. What sort of torque were you guys running and was there any sign of slip at low revs and peak boost?
