Now before i get shot down in flames yes ive searched all of the catch tank threads to give me an idea for fitting one and where the pipes should go from and too, now ive seen alot of people use shiney chrome catch tanks from ebay etc... but i want something a little more subtle. Ive checked up on the net and found this:

http://www.pbase.com/rsrock/oil_catch_can

a home made catch tank for an s2000 using a air compressor filter. This is smaller with a clear container and drain plug and could be fitted out of the way somewhere but still accessable to drain.

Now this is how i think the system should be fitted (excuse the use of paint lol)
if this is correct i only have one question.

Once the vapours have been through the filter/catch tank and oil and condensation taken out could they not be put back into the intake pipe as the oily substances have now been taken out? Or do you have to vent to atmosphere because the vacuum from the manifold has been removed.

Any help much appriciated Cheers Craig.

Thats the same setup as i have. I vent mine to atmosphere but it does cause a bit of a mess, i have heard of people routing it via the downpipe and not the TIP.

Yeah i like the idea of the air line filter as its a bit more discrete and much much smaller, more places it can be put easier, and emptying it isn't a problem because i check levels each week anyways, last thing i wanna do is spray vapour into the engine bay or anywhere near the exhaust as it has a good chance of making the engine bay even dirtier and also setting on fire. I take it i have got it right about the way its plumbed in tho?

Still will it be ok plumbed bac into the tip if the pcv valve has been removed?

Its where you use the backpressure from the exhaust to stop oil filling into the catch tank when using baffled sumps. The breather just goes into the exhaust at an angle. Litchfield use the system on their race scoobys.
