Sorry to highjack your thread SmartyFR but I noticed you had the LCR front splitter on your car. Do you have any pics as im thinking about putting one on mine, but I haven't seen one on a silver FR/Cupra

they are good, i had one for a while, but i swapped it for a BMC CDA. Looked better in the engine bay and was easier to service.

BMC is quieter so i guess that's a negative if whooshy dump valves are your thing.

i got one on my TDI, and well after about 15k on the clock its got a lovely "Darth vader sucking noise" on idle (sorry the only way i can describe it) and on release at full boost gives out a lovely DV echo chatter, noise back down the intake....
I'll try and make a sound file tonight for it!

I think my carbonio has lost its "darth vaderness"... :(
Sounds much "higher" in tone now - think its time to clean the filter...... hope to sort it.

They are very nice, but as said above can be a bit of a pain to get to the filter to clean it. Was going to swap for a BMC-CDA too, but decided against it in the end :)

i thought of one of these, but not sure what the filter would be like, asked the guy selling them and he "thinks" it would be fine on a remapped 1.8t,failing that a good green filter on the end of it would still bring it in under the cost of a carbonio

that CAI pipe looks a better proposition than the carbonio, it has an inlet for the auxilliary air pump hose which the carbonio doesn't.

My Carbonio has arrived this morning -I'll be chuffed if it sounds and works as amazing as it looks.

The fitting instructions estimate 1hr 20 mins to fit though!!

fitting can take a while - you'll have to remove the shroud around the n/s light as per instructions - can take a while because its hard to remove!

I would say more like 2 and half hours, especially in this cold, loss of finger movement and feeling will slow you down, plus the whole removal of battery, pulling back the wheel arch to put the filter in... its really a two man job ona sunday sunny summer afternoon really!! lol
