well i wasnt happy with the colour match, it looked ok, but when up close you could see it was slightly off so i rubbed them all down again and started from scratch
so i got some paint made up with the colour s57n, my colour code is l57n but they didnt have mine, but i think the colour is a perfect match

what you think

Hi mate,

I like what you've done with ur strips...

how do you it? did u take them off first? then straight paint them, or did u sand them down, prime, paint and lack! or did you leave them on whilst spray painting them

i'm thinking of doing mine now

cheers

hi mate, well taking them off is too much hassle, i spent 25p on the sun and masked up around the door strip with newspaper and masking tape, and left page no3 on show :cheeky: lol
1.) rub down door strips
2.) a couple of coats of primer leaving 15 mins intervals, thin coats
3.) a few layers of paint to match the car leaving 20-30 mins in between coats
4.) and a couple of coats of laquer every 15 mins
5.) finally remove newspaper and tape making sure its fully dried ;)

I have noticed alot of Leon boys doing that mod now, how legal are they? Assuming daytime they are perfectly legal, but night maybe not so?

if you only do a few coats, then the light will still shine through very bright, too many coats and it wont be as bright and be very dim, but they only take 2 secs to take of anyway

well here will be some more progress off my car in the next week to a month or so
getting some 150 intercooler pipes soon with thanks to unclefester ;)
i made a start on the brackets for the fmic which i will be fitting to the car very soon, then will need to measure what other pipes i need to connect up to the 150 pipe work :)

you may say it wont be as good as forge, allard etc, but its gotta be better than the silly smic surely ;)
but im getting the 150 pipework and hopefully the silicone joiners cheap and i have loads of spare intercooler pipes all ready :)
so here is my little fmic project over the next coming weeks :)

i am picking the 150 intercooler hoses up from fester on saturday and the pipe from the pancake pipe to the intercooler, i am hoping the lower forge pipe from the 180 20vt leon will fit, i think it should :)
what do you think?

wonder where you got this idea from (cue B3LSY)

not that it matters. they look cool:)

firat saw these millions of years ago on a 1985 escort RS turbo custom and they looked cool then!!

bit like the flourescent trend of the eighties, seems to come alive again!!

i like black on silver, gives a real contrast:)

that why i got black lights, tinted windows in order to compliment teh bumper/skirt lowers:) (and cheaper than getting a bodykit or coloucoding (which looks **** with standard bumpers on the A4))

Will look good... I recently changed my front, and got my back one too - makes such a difference to the car. :)
