Boc in Bits

Based on the fact it happens on every 7speed DSG box. I've been in 4 and they all did it as do everyone elses. If people say their's doesn't do it they just haven't noticed it. Its not a bad rattle and only happens over bumpy surfaces.

Yours could be an actual problem, its hard to tell without hearing it.

I understand and agree that if all of them have it than it's just a characteristic of the car,
but,

Haven't there been times where car manufacturers called in for re-call all their cars because of a assembly **** up. IE, Mazada 3 in 2009 with the electrical system failure and 25 thousand cars that potentially had the failure, and the Honda Accord recall in nov. 09' where the suspension was ****ed up!

Let's hope it's not the same case with DSG7 gearbox...

Regarding hearing it, unfortunately due to background noises such as tires, wind and tarmac noises, it's mission impossible getting it on tape.
But it's the "regular" metal rattling noise we all have driving over speed humps or old roads in low speeds..... :\

I see your point but the problems you mentioned where actual problems or failures, a noise wouldn't class as an issue. Also think how many car's the 7 speed is on. There is no way VW would let something this serious through the net. BUT I do think they should let customers know that this is the nature of the box and not something to worry about.

Rang the dealers, asked for a sitrep on the Bocanegra. Telephone answering girl said lines busy will get someone to ring you back, no call no response. Oh well no news is good news and the Altea is great for doing the Xmas shopping. Done the Ikea and toys r us run today.

Do I want the Boc back.............................. frankly not bothered. Is that bad of me?

Pissed tho as no one returned my calls twice. POOR !

Wouldnt it work out alot cheaper for vw/Audi to put the dsg6 into the cars as the 7 will be costing them thousands in lost car sales, replacement box's and even the labour to fix the 7.

They should have stuck with the 6 as that seemed to work well and I'm sure out of all the cars the Ibiza doesn't really need a 7 speed box

The six speed doesnt mate with the smaller block engines, thats why its fitted to the larger diesel and petrol engines.
