I found the squeak! Turns out the absolute cowboys who changed my wishbone bushes made a right balls of putting the bolts back in and threaded them. They even knew they threaded one of them and sheared the top off the bolt. Disgusted to be honest. All sorted now and the car is finally squeak free :D

Haven't posted in a while. Had an engine coil go a few weeks back so was forced to get it changed at a garage and replaced the other two with beru coils a few days later. Did the spark plugs at the same time. Also got an oil change shortly after.

Bought a replacement light cluster for the driver's rear as the old one always had a chip in it that was annoying me.

Drilled some holes in the headlight covers and stuck in some silica gel packs for the condensation. Must get more gel packs for the rears.

Just been trying to keep it clean and tidy and doing small bits. Recently took a trip out to Wicklow, beautiful spot. Got some photos by Powerscourt waterfall:

Thanks. Yeah once one goes you're better off changing them all. Car runs much smoother on idle after changing the whole pack. Could also be my spark plugs as when I took the old ones out they were f***ed. Bosch long life ones that had only done bout 20k miles. Oh well!

My car can be fine on idle some times or can run like a dog. Its sometimes running well then it shakes a sec then fine again. I no its not the spark plugs as i replaced them at the same time i replaced the other coil.

Bit of an update! Got the wheels on. Powdercoated in gloss black with a layer of silver over the top. The colour changes depending on the light and I really like them. Look silvery in sunlight and greyish at night:

Looking darker in the garage:

All fitted:

Dust caps:

JOM coilovers on as well.
Before:

After:

Weather has been crap so haven't had a chance to tweak the coilovers yet. Front will be going down a bit more I'd say! It's getting there slowly :D

I also passed my NCT on Easter sunday with no advisories. Rear wiper blade has been changed and fixed a split in the windscreen washer pipe using heat shrink. Must go out and get a few decent pictures of the car, don't really have any. Will post back with some new updates soon!

Yeah. Actually had the 2 before my ibiza sold 3 hours later. Ive now got 2011 2.0 tdi vw scirocco with bluemotion.

Wow nice car. Well wear with it!

I managed to adjust the coilovers in between showers today and got spacers fitted. 20mm on the back and 15mm on the front.

You really notice how sunken the wheels are once it's lowered:

One side done:

One side to do:

Car is lowered about 40mm at the rear and 25-30mm on the front. Few snaps of how it's looking now:

Been tipping away at the car lately. Got the external temperature sensor sitting right, repositioned the headlights slightly to get them sitting better against the grills, refurbished the wiper arms as they were in an awful state and put on new blades. Also took out the rear adjusters.

Car is sitting great at the back but the front is a bit high. It's level on the 2 front wheels but the drivers side has like 8 threads left and the other side is all the way down. I haven't taken out the helper springs and I know that would solve the problem but I heard it won't pass mot with them out and don't fancy putting them in and out every year. Only other option lower springs?

Quick pic of the car today after a quick clean:

Steady progress being made. Painted the rear wiper and replaced the blade. Painted my tow hook and added a toy :p been concentrating on keeping it clean and adding a few bits to my cleaning arsenal!

Few pics of mine and a friend's car:

I realise I have a license plate bulb out, just can't seem to find a set that are as good as the ones I have on now

So I had my clutch go at the start of July. Unfortunately it happened the day before I left for a 3 week interailing trip. So it took a while to get it sorted. Gearbox bearings were gone also I was told so brand new clutch and 2nd hand gearbox was fitted. Also had a cv joint changed. Haven't even had a chance to clean it in ages but here's some pics I took on my phone:

So I think the time has come to move on from this car. It won't be getting replaced for a few months while I save up some money but I feel it's time to move on. I got the car looking how I wanted and apart from delving into an engine transplant (which I don't really fancy) I don't know what else this car can offer me. It's still a cracking car and I'm going to spend the next few months enjoying it and keeping it looking and running at it's best but the mods will stop from here while I save up money for a replacement :)
