Hey man, car looks awesome.
any chance you could give a quick guide on how you hooked up the aux cable to the head unit?

Lee.

Thanks! Yeah I bought the cable on ebay (think it was for a mini) and it simply plugs into the back of your radio. You have to ground it using a small piece of wire on pin 14. Then just use the CD6 button to switch to aux.

This helped me a lot:

So I've been busy over the last few weeks. Got all the painting done and just about finished fitting everything. This was the beautiful sight of having everything freshly painted:

First thing on was the cupra spoiler:
Before:

After:

Side view:

Rear bumper was next. Had this bumper on the car already but I bought it second hand so it was the wrong red and also had a dent in the diffuser. Bought a new diffuser, got the exhaust hole plastic welded and got it sprayed gloss black:

All fitted:

I added new plates at the same time:

Which are held on with these:

Glued to the back:

My newest purchase was a cupra front bumper from Dave at SERE. Got the bumper painted, bottom lip and number plate recess done gloss black and all grills done gloss black:

Foglights are fitted but not wired up yet. Handles are also colourcoded. Next job is to get the new door mouldings back on (which are gloss black) but the glue from the old ones is a right b*tch to get off. Any suggestions? Also, anyone who has done this front bumper conversion before, any idea where the external temperature sensor fits now?

Wing mirror caps are colourcoded and will be put on as soon as I can source a replacement driver's wing mirror that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Hope ye like :funk:

Looking good mate, bet your glad you waited

Thanks very much. Yeah I got a great deal on all the painting and very happy with the result!

Looking well. I got paint work done there aswell. Ill post pictures when its buffed 1 more time. Wats up with ur drivers mirror

Haha funny story. It wouldn't fold in and I pushed it a little too hard so now the cap doesn't sit in right and it whistles and it's just a right mess! So I'm just going to get one from a scrappies before I put on the new cap ;)

Lol. Its easy done. My mirror wouldnt move either and i put all my weight on it and it moved so the caps could get painted. I changed the discs to drilled and groived 1s and they look well. How do you use a picture of your car as your profile picture?

Yeah mine didn't move haha. Go to user cp. On the left, under settings and options, click edit avatar. Then just select the photo you want to use and save changes ;)

I colour coded the b pillar just there. What are the door mouldings

Door mouldings are the plastic strips that run down the doors.

NOOOOOOOOO!

God bless toffee wheels, took the glue off the sidestrips with so little effort.

What I was dealing with:

And a couple of randoms from when I test fitted the bumper:

Haven't had a chance but will have to get some decent photos soon.
