Wille - just some replacement DS3000's, I'm hoping I don't need new rotors yet, if I do they'll be from Bill @ Badger5.

There's a whole host of stuff I'd like as I want to compete in a year or so, but we'll see how it goes as it's so expensive.

Barn - you're more than welcome any time bud

Ad, the DS's dont have a wear sensor so should be linked out to get rid of the light, may just be bad connection on the wiring
I was originally looking to get the AD08's too but at £150 a tyre was a bit steep, ended up staying with the vreds for £100 a pop
I added a little extinguisher (not a system though) before i did my trackday afew weeks back, only a 1kg one, would have probably gone bigger knowing its dimensions now
When i did my battery relocation i added a killswitch too, depends on where you want it located though as how much work is involved but very handy to have.
You got me looking at oil coolers too, seeing your oil temps on track and hitting 120 degree myself on an OE map is worrying
Need to get a meet going soon

Spotted you driving past the Stewponey on Sunday afternoon around 3 o'clock Ape.

Your car really does stand out amongst the crowd.

Ronin, I know buddy, there's a post about it coming on a page or so back, maybe the car just knows :cartman: I really.need a change of tyres now. Been running paradas for eternity now and its about time for change to something better. I'm looking to go competitive in 12 months or so so the extinguisher, cage and cut offs need to be fit for MSA approval. Had enough of trackdays without a goal. I'll do them next year for practice but I'd like to enter something eventually. I've not.forgotten the battery relocation, bit skint at the mo though :( oil cooler will be done also, just funds are the issue!

Pseudo - I was on the way to or from prestwood avairies, the wet weather made the drive... Interesting! Cheers for.the picture, its ace!

What sort of racing you planning on doing?
Sprints or hill climbs.
Like you said be careful about what mods you do with respect to the MSA regs.
Competitive racing is VERY expensive.
Your looking at spending at least £5,000 to get your car ready for this, will be fun though.

I'm looking at circuit racing, the MSVR trackday trophy or the Superpro VAG trophy. I need to get a few thinvs, seats and harnesses, cage, extinguisher and cut outs, along with a restricter plate and not that much else really. I can do the ARDS test whenever to get my license but you're probably not far off with the £5k bud

Oh, and not forgetting the Clothing too, got a couple of bits, need to get the rest too.

Just looking at the SuperCopa's that seem to make an appearance in the one series, they use a nice multilink rear suspension and a nicer front subframe / arm setup. hmmmm.

Start stock piling bumpers, doors, wings and wheels.
There us a medical that needs to be passed in your ARDS too, perhaps do this before you set your heart on anything.
I've looked into the realistic cost of track racing competitively and their HUGE!!
Even single marque racing like XR2's your looking at £500 per race.
Will be interesting to hear what expected costs you have budgeted for.

Good luck with competing if you do decide to do it bud.

You do love your track action so why not if you have the funds...

Aye, I need to do a full budget, it's around £300 per meeting, and not far of £500 for the ARDs, MSA pack etc, apart from carrying around a little more insulation that the average bod, and being colourblind, the medical will be fine. Tyres can last (or not) a few races depending on a number of things, brakes may last longer, I've not done some of the tracks in the Calender so difficult to know really.

I looked at series like the clio challenge and things like that, but I love turbo'd motoring too much and couldn't part with my LCR for a non turbo, let alone French! :cartman:

I do love my track driving, but I know I need tuition to improve. Non competitive track driving doesn't give the adrenaline rush it used to.

You'll either need epic amounts of ballast in your LCR, or significantly reduce the power to get an agreeable PWR for most of the championships.

Trackday Trophy targets 200bhp/tonne - so you'd be looking at humping your car by 250kg or so once stripped out - which in turn will muller the brakes & tyres further.

tbqfh, you'd be better off spending that £5k prep money on something already built (french, 2.0L stuff) otherwise you'll just be a back marker regardless how well you drive

What about if some one hits you smashes your car up or you crash are you going to be able to afford even the slightest bump and dent say a rear quarter etc

The flywheel power is the only power figure I have at the moment, the 200bhp / ton is measured at the wheels, standard kerb weight of the LCR is 1210kg (according to Wiki, I'll weigh it myself obviously when this gathers steam). I'm yet to check the regs to see what the conditions when the weighing is done (fuel amount, driver weight etc). Not only that, I'd have to have a 36mm restrictor plate fitted as well because it's a turbo'd entry, which will reduce the power further (Applicable to the Trackday Trophy and Club Trophy, unsure about the SuperPro Vag Trophy).

I have friends in the trade Dan, and I can do alot myself, so I'd manage one way or another. There are good few weeks between meetings too to get everything sorted. I know it's not going to be cheap.

Yeah, but you want the least weight possible! Therefore better on tyres & brakes.

You'd be better off aiming for 1250kg & 250bhp (with buckets of torque) than 1400kg & 280bhp
