Ape's LCR225 Thread (Getting Back on the Road)

We sorted the rear brakes yesterday :D

We also figured that the wheel bolts undoing themselves at speed was due to the Powercoating preventing proper contact between the Wheels and Bolt Seats, we removed this and I've spent today out on a "spirited" drive and everything's tight :D

Fuel of Champions! (Or Chumpians?!), work shouldn't start without on, especially on a Saturday!

Is the group buy still going on? I've not checked for a while and have forgotten where it is?

Also - Any preference from folk regarding exhaust hangers? I'd like them to be pretty solid to keep the tip tight to the bumper.

Na, the group buy was initially till the end of May then it was cut short

Ah that's a shame. I may be able to get a few people together for another order? Or we'll just order separately.

Your Wavetrac Diff? What are your thoughts / experiences with it? An LSD is something on my longer term list, quite often overlooked by alot of people. Would you mind telling the the rough costs involved (guessing about £1700?) and that kinda thing, along with how it makes the car behave?

It's the icing on my cars handling cake TBH, it feels awesome.

Basically where you would accelerate out of a corner and end up in the hedge with a mass of understeer this thing allow you to pull out of the corner like your cars 4WD.

Cost to do this on your GB:

- £700 for diff
- £100 for fitting kit
- £400 to fit to car and small changes to make the GB sweet
Plus shipping if you not close to the place

I'd after a Turbo Back Blue Flame with either Decat or Highflow cat. Although I was waiting until I could afford both that and KW V2s and get them done at the same time as Jabba or Awesome.

I've read that a if you couple a decat with a stage 2 tune, it can cause massive torque spikes and snap a rod. I'd love a decat though, even with the MOT problems.

you can tone down the torque/boost spike with a manual boost controller in parallel with your n75. There is some info about this elsewhere on the forum.

With custom mapping after this is fitted there should be no issues.
Thats why stage 2 piece should be fitted prior to having the map done.
I would like to think that your mapper would be able to sort this for you without too much cost.

An interesting thread. Your car looks great Ape, and the work you've put in has paid off nicely.

The colour of the alloys works well. Too much for me personally mind you, but I like it nonetheless.

Indeed Adam has very kindly lent me his LCR while my Ibiza is at Forge Motorsport. Its a big deal for him, I know he is a little nervous but im taking good care of it. Having a little fiddle with things including the tailgate handle/badge, looking a bit more themed now..
