What anti roll bars from other models (audi TT, A3 98-2006 etc) fit the leon mk1 both front and rear?

I'm thinking of adding to rear / upgrading the front.

Any help appreciated.

none of the other models based on a MK4 platform came with a rear ARB as standard unless they were 4WD so any that you come across will be aftermarket, Eibach H&R KW to name a few.

When it comes to fronts there are a fair few to choose from and some are model specific as the more powerful models have a different front end setup than the lower powered ones, Basically anything lower than 180BHP as standard has the weaker setup with a hook type ARB which hooks around the driveshaft and connects to the folded steel lower arm via a short drop link and everything else above 180BHP has the better setup with cast lower arms and a different shaped ARB that goes between the lower arm and drive shaft and also connects to the underneath of the spring housing.
Then you have different thickness of ARB, The more powerful models had thicker ARB's for better handling, I believe the best standard ARB to get is one from the Golf R32 but note that it'll only fit the more powerful models...

I'm not sure what model your car is but if its lower than the 180 you will have the hook type so best bet is to buy an aftermarket one as I don't think there was much difference if any between the lowered powered setups...

Oh look what I found ;);) http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=408562

Thanks for the great explanation!
I have the cupra diesel 150 and I thought I read somewhere when I goes got it that R32 or TT mk1 ARBs would fit? As you said they are more powerful models

I have upgraded mine with the following:

Rear - aftermarket Whiteline 22mm, set on mid range

Front - lower strut brace from TT/poly bushed ARB (the TDI ARB is actually 23mm so quite sturdy bit of kit)

Totally different front end set-up, different drop links to connect to ARB etc

Cheers mate, did you go for a TT front arb as it is straight instead of a hook over one?
I guess this is because it is lowered?
Mine is lowered on JOM coilovers which is part of the reason I am looking at changing.

I like your build thread! Looks like we are going the same way wi hour Grey Leons!

Nah mate I kept my front ARB and fitted the lower strut brace from a TT (this is similar to the LCR which is a flat plate bolted between the wishbone arms)
Thanks for the comments mate ;)

I'd go with that one that cocadave is selling, bigger loops to fit over the driveshafts and for £100 it's only a bit more than I paid for my no-name front arb a couple of years ago!

The straight arbs from the TT etc. are bolted to the suspension struts and a lot of aftermarket coilovers are designed for non Cupra R (like ours that bolt to wishbone) or specifically for the Cupra R which have mounting points on the struts themselves.

I bought the KW ARB's as a pair (front and rear) to swap for my standard but in the end I ended up fitting the rear and putting the entire front end from a TT 3.2v6, subframe, ARB, steering rack, hubs, arms and suspension, problem I have now is that the front end has risen due to the the difference in weight between the leon and the v6's engine and transfer box etc.

Just swap the springs off the tdi struts onto the tt struts

might just have to try that..

Ideally I'd like some stronger springs but don't want to lose any height as there are loads of nasty speed humps where I live and as it is I can glide straight over them without catching.

If it is quite thick already (and my car is quite low on the coilies) I think I will look at adding a rear ARB and poly bush the front the next time some work needs doing under there

It is quite thick, but as you go lower you'll need an arb with bigger loops on it to stop the driveshafts from rubbing. It depends how low you want to go really but worth considering before worrying about the rear.

It is quite low already but is set well and barely catches the driveshafts, I am gonna do some more research as I am sure I have read about people using the TT / R32 arb that go underneath.

If you''ve got coilovers that have the mounting bracket for the droplinks on them (search DPM's website or on Google to see the LCR coilovers with the bracket) then you can go TT/R32 etc with no problems.
