Nope, my car went in two weeks ago for a full week, I got a phone call on the friday saying it was fixed and ready for collection, picked it up drove for a short while and the knocking was still there. I've had so many things changed on my car to try and fix the problem and not one of them has made any difference. And now I find myself in the fun posistion of being told by my dealer that they are "at a loss and don't know what to do now"

Apparantly they are going to phone some Seat Technician guy to come out and look at my car to see what he can do, but I have been told that on previous experience this can take 6 to 8 weeks, wonderful.

Apparently the biggest complaints about seat ibiza's in owner surveys are suspension problems!

My car has a knock noise coming from it also, although intermittent. Did have a garage look at it (not main stealers) and they said they could find any issues.

I will update the thread if they fix the problem or not just to let you know what they do/say.

I have had a quick read through. I have an 07 tdi fr from new, experience the same problem with the front drivers side. At slow/crawling speeds it is quite notchy, but the worst is when I hit a drain or a hole in the road it sometimes makes a noise as if its bottoming out, terrible sound but i have just learnt to live with it, I read before buying the car that the ibiza finds every hole in the road, its a hard ride and low profiles just thought it were the norm.

Has anyone complained to a garage and actually had something sorted? I have already been back with this hesitant turbo issue (Which disappears when warm) and they did nothing and so I don't wanna go back moaning yet again.

Nope not even so much as a phone call to tell me that they have phoned up and got a date for me, I'm guessing this is because they probably haven't bothered yet even though I did say I want it done as a priority because I've been pissed about so much.

Just had a phone call from the dealers telling me that they have heard nothing from the manufacturer and they will call me again when they get a phone call.

it's a pretty lifeless update but it's an update all the same.

i saved my guarantee when i did mod fo4 230 ps. i use bilstein b14 and it is pretty good. the old ibiza sport 100pd 2002 i had weitec and also was ok. you can fix your car very low with the weitec kit

Im gonna add mine to the list. 07 Ibiza Fr tdi. Mostly knocks when your reversing slowly on a full lock. You get a quite loud 'knock' noise.

Told the dealers about it but said they couldn't hear anything:confused:

My 02 tdi 100 did this and failed its first MOT because the bushes and roll bar needed replacing. Dealer said it was a common problem which would have been replaced under warranty if mine hadn't run out,but it had so I had to pay them 200quid. It was 'excessive play'

I've got a hell of a knocking noise coming from my front end, nearside.

My mate who is a mechanic said when he done my MOT the ARB (D-Link) bushes are worn and there is play, so I have some Cupra ARB bushes awaiting fitment.

They're so small too...

i had this problem a few months ago, i took it back to the place that fitted my coilovers and they couldnt find anything wrong and basically told me i was hearing things. I took my wheel off one day to clean the arches and i saw a scraping mark on the inner arch. it turned out that the ARB had moved slightly and the excess drop link screw threads were hitting the arch when i went over rough ground. dont know if this will help anyone but its my knocking experience.

Well I phoned up the dealers yesterday to give them my new phone number and ask for any updates and the guy said that they are waiting on some report (not sure what for, but i'm sure they will shed more light when the time comes) whilst on the phone the service manager did tell me that I am not the only one who has reported this problem and they've had a few people with the same thing so Seat do know about it.

Come on though guys the more people that get this problem highlighted the more chance we have of getting it fixed, anyone who is having the problem should get down to your dealers and start moaning and really push it into Seat's face. Let's make things better for ourselves.

Hi there, Just to let you all know i have knocking too. I have an 03 reg 1.4 SE. The knocking started about 2 weeks after my warrenty ran out. (As is par for the course!) I think that my knocking is slightly different, it happens only over uneven surfaces, i dont have to be turning. I took the car to a local garage to get it checked, they took it out for a test drive and said that it only does it 75% of the time and not t wrry about it. However i did notice that they did not put it on a ramp to have a look so i am going to take it to another garage and see what they say. I will post a update here once i have had it looked at again. Glad to see i am not the only one with problems, Unfortunatly!!!

Knocking on uneven surfaces is probably worn anti-rollbar bushes
Have temporarly cheated on mine by jamming half a dozen cablie ties through them (so I could loop them and tie them to stop them falling out) to take up the slack - has worked for nine months so far!
