Yep picking it up tomorrow. Still seat warranty on it, so kinda don't want to do anything to it which would ruin it....

i've only had mines for about a month so can't really comment too much.

i don't think theres any problems with the boxes to be honest, haven't heard any rumours myself, its the oil consumption you need to be careful with, the 1.4tsi is notorious for burning tonnes of it. I had to put in 3 litres one night.....

would recommend you check it regularly, if my oil goes low again its going back to the garage....

other than the oil consumption though i've been loving it

Great! Good to hear. What's fuel economy like? Miles to a tank?

it depends how you drive it really, if you can resist having fun in it then you could probably stretch a tank out to about 400 odd miles. i reckon if you were driving it on the motorway a lot you'd get even more.

normally i get about 300 miles to a tank, with little to no motorway driving, and lots of "spirited" driving. i use shell v-power which i feel gives you a bit more

I'm 28 mile round trip to work on the M1 everyday. No doubt there's going to be a few tanks used in the coming days! How much fills tem?

had planned to paint the calipers orange today, in the shelter of my uncles garage. was going to put it up on the ramp to make things easier.

we've been lucky enough to have had no snow until today, but overnight the world changed its mind and i woke up to a thick layer of snow, so i scrapped the idea of painting the calipers :(

i've got some plans for my wheels, but i don't want to give anything away yet :) won't be happening till i'm home from my next trip offshore anyway..awaiting a delivery that won't arrive before i go away on tuesday.

this weather is depressing me so much, can't wait until the spring so i can whip out my tusty DA and get correcting the paint on my boc.

found this picture of a correction i carried out on my pals car in the summer:

hahaha, you might just have won!

need to get myself a new DA, the dodo juice one is crap. thinking about buying a porter cable one from amazon USA. $139 dollars delivered!

thoroughly enjoy detailing, would like it to be more than just a hobby, would love to be able to make money out of it!

I did rotary training last year, always do people's car during the summer :) if work things go tits up then my business is a go

not really updating anything today, just that i had a hungover trip to costco earlier on. came across this:

genuinely considered buying it haha. £45 for 20 litres, if my cars going to be consuming oil like no other then i might just have to go back! sure fellow cupra owners will be feeling my pain....

also treated myself (or rather, the car) to loads of american microfibre polishing cloths and new micro fibre wash mitts and sponges...god i love costco :) also got a crate of 6 bottles of Jack Daniel's for £98, but thats a different story.

I wouldn't put that oil anywhere near your engine dude :(

The jack Daniels sounds an awesome deal though :D

haha i was only joking! "seat recommends castrol!"

i read up about the chevron stuff just out of curiosity, a lot of mixed reviews with it, few people on the skoda forum seem to be using it on their vrs's quite happily. it's just too much of a risk though!

indeed! cheapest place ever for booze!

not updated this in a while due to being away at work for the past 2 weeks.

was a busy trip, so i'm looking forward to relaxing over the next 3 weeks, nothing but beers, bedtime and bocanegras. :D

i didn't have much planned for my car over the next month or so, as my insurance is due for renewal on the 10th march. got an e-mail from admiral with a quote of £718 :(

so thought i'd phone them up to see what they could do. after a bit of whittling, the guy came back with a quote of £387.68! couldn't believe my ears when he said that! especially considering i'm a 20 year old with less than 3 years no claims.

anyway, the money that was going to be spent on insurance can now be splashed on more mods! i would love a milltek catback, but to be honest i don't really want to do anything that will void my warranty. thinking more along the lines of the sc spoiler and side skirts.

whilst i was away in the sea my foliatec spray film came :D

wheels will hopefully be getting sprayed tomorrow. the spray is anthracite metallic. best thing about this stuff is that it's completely removable!

been a very busy boy today:

chum from college came down from carnoustie to give me a hand spraying my wheels and painting my calipers:

giving them a thorough clean with autosmart tardis and some dodo juice shampoo:

still got loads to do, need to get some paint on the front two alloys tonight, and finish off painting the calipers tomorrow, so far only done one coat on each. car has been left on the axle stands overnight haha!

please feel free to comment! :D
