A k04 on standard manifold wont fit in a ibiza , unless u started angle grinding a hole out the bulk head! not much space round there. What do you mean when u say see off? top end above a 100, 30 to 70? All depends on if the car stripped, but the cooper will have it on a twisty road, handling on a mini is far superior!

but 45litres isn't going to last 5 hours which is what you'd need to get to that kind of speed in a 106 and it would fall apart before that:whistle:

Grow up mate, the kid is asking a sensible question no need to slag off his car.

His gti happens to be rapid and would give a remapped cupra a run for its money.

160bhp is relatively easily acheived from a 106 gti engine, assumiming that is that its the same engine thats found in the Saxo VTS? I very nearly bought a VTS before the Cupra and had a few choice mods in mind that would have seen it to 160bhp.

But obviously the 106/VTS won't have anywhere near as much torque as the Cupra.

yep, car flies to 140 and 150mph can be seen on fairly short road if carrying enough speed, can get to end of the clock if on long enough road i.e. the severn bridge (although I wouldnt know that only guessing :p ) lol Im sure the BMW 545 sport would back that up when he his his limiter @ 155mph but this is if it really happened :D and not hypothetical ;)

Top speed runs are something you do once a year or so, remember not to drop the soap WHEN you get caught at that speed.

Everyone trys to break the land speed record in your car, but to race on the open road at 150 mph is dicing with death and prison imho.

So tell me, what has your 106 had done to it, to reach 160 bhp? :)

BMC enclosed filter
GMC 4-1 manifold
Pugsport grp n exhaust
Catcam 708's
chipwizards custom ecu re-map

157bhp & 870kgs :D

i'm going to be selling it soon anyway, im after an ibiza. i've put it in the wanted section actually

are you sure he's not quoting pub figures? what's he done to get that sort of power? i've raced alleged "170bhp gti's" and killed them. mine runs a 14.4 1/4 mile which isn't bad for a 1.6 n/a

169bhp? has it go throttle bodies? or charged?

I dont know why people are quoting figures at the fly either, generally they are not the most accurate

mine is 130 @ the wheels. more than a match for a re-mapped ibiza but anything more would leave me IMO.

not with 130bhp you wont mate, maybe with 160bhp you would give a mapped beeza a "run for its money" and it would be tough, but for a 130bhp being "more than a match for a remapped ibiza" its just talkin tripe, plain and simple

106GTI's are quick on the twisties (nice and light), would leave a ibiza then, not on the straight at all unless you running 160+bhp imo and even then it would be a very interesting race

Oh, and before you ask, i know this as my mate has got a 152bhp stripped out saxo VTS (built by dpmotorsport) and its basically the same car as the 106 and i pull away from him, constantly, in every gear, and past 80/90 start to leave him, admittedly i have a bit more than "just a map" but still .............. u get the idea

i have 130 @ the wheels and 160 @ the flywheel. giving me a power to weight ratio of just over 185bhp per tonne. i can do a 5.9 0-60mph and a 14.4 1/4 mile. and your saying you think i would struggle with a 200bhp ibiza? i certainly don't think it would pull away?

besides i want to get one, so i'm not trying to slate them at all or start any arguments!

I think it would be a fun race, but I think the Ibiza would get better traction off the line as the 106 is very light and isnt built to run huge power, the Ibiza is abit better equipped to handle more power.

Just ran a quick test with my little calculator lol and a 106 with 160bhp would run (in theory) a 6.37 to 60 and a 16.75 to 100 whereas an Ibiza with 200bhp would run a 6.25 60 time (in theory) with a 15.9 100 time, so pretty close indeed!
