are all the control's in roughly the right place inside the car then so its not to much to chop about then, and to put it in laymens turns then i need
a mk3 engine complete with turbo
a complete car loom including ecu,
and to chop the plugs for the lights from original loon and put them onto mk3 loom,

what about the switches do you use mk3 indicator storks etc or mk2 ones?

cheers adam

easiest way is to get your hands on a whole car, that way as you strip it you get an idea of how it all goes back together, and it could be possible to hear it running aswell dependant on damage

i used most of the mk3 parts for my conversion, only mk2 parts left on the car are the shell, windows, rear axle and brakes, mirrors, fuel tank, steering column, there could be a few more but it's basically a whole mk3 in a mk2 shell

only difference i could find between the front subframe of mine and the vr6 one was a small mounting bracket for the powersteering pump!!!

i was told i couldnt use my front subframe but i have!! im guessing it will be the same between 1.4 and 16v subframes!!

I take it the front end is the same for a 3door as 5door? e.g a 16v font subframe will fit a 5dr.

Cheers

Don't do it man!!!! you've got a car that loves to be thrashed and literally sticks its fingers up at you as your approaching the red line of the rev meter!

If you dont enjoy driving this type of car you aint got a pulse!!!:D

The 2.0l 16v are great to drive, built to last and as the saying goes "if it aint broke don't fix it!"

Only thing id say is spend the money on suspension and strutting the front and rear! Then you'll be able to drive the car to its full potential.

As for the 20v Turbo Ibiza's. Great cars.Go out and buy one rather than all the hassle! then spend money on tuning etc.

Cheers :)

i'm running a 1.8t conversion in my caddy van which chassis - wise is basically a mk2 'biza front. I wish i'd known more about interchangability and seats in general when i started it as it would have saved me time going to and from scrapyards trial fitting rear mounting brackets etc as i've used a mixture of vw parts - basically i went into it blind and with pretty much no knowledge just ideas and the help of some good people.[B)]

just waiting on a certain kind person to sort me out with the part no's of the mounting brackets and subframe so i can draw some comparison with the vw bits and change them. i'm also going to change the driveshafts and servo/cylinder unit for 1.8t 'biza items.

Its pretty tight in the mk2 'bay and there are a couple of other things i'd like to change i.e i'm using the std sdi rad & fan which is efficient but clutters up the bay and would like to change the inlet mani and boost piping for the same reason.

If anyone knows of a mk3 'biza 1.8t thats being broken for spares i'd love to know about it:)
