Sorry but I can't agree... I had a chance to compare the new GTI and Cupra 300 yesterday and Golf feels noticeably nicer. Leon is OK but my parent's 1st generation (facelifted) Fabia has more less the same hard-to-soft-plastic ratio ;)

Yeah but compare price of Golf GTI and Cupra. I payed here in my country for Cupra 31 000 Euro and only from equipment they didn't let me to put in the car is Lane assist, high beam auto it costs 300 Euro. All other options I took from roof, navi, everything in konfigurator I could put.
When I was looking for Golf GTI with that options it costs more then 49 000 euro :( and even I haven't put lane assist, auto high beam, cause it would go over 50 000 euros.

It's hard to argue about taste :) someone finds new Mercedes interior beautiful but for me it's ugly.

Especially I don't like in new cars is Navi display it looks like you putted tablet on the dash. I like old style when it's inside the dash. New BMW F30 looks too cheap when you compare to his older brother E90. But it's hard to talk about taste.

Just enjoy in life guys and don't pay too much attention about those things.

Perhaps ironically, I actually agree. Maybe that's why I was happy to overlook the fairly dated dash of the f30. Although should point out the F30 3 series is long in the tooth now anyway. The all new G20 is due very soon indeed, so the 3 series is most definitely not new. Even its facelift was two years ago now.

The cheaper plastics in the Leon never actually bothered me, though. I was just answering the question someone else asked about why people might be bothered by cheaper materials... I think it's perfectly acceptable for what it is. But I can see why so many are put off and wander instead to the VW dealerships. I was more put off by the electronic handbrake than by the dashboard, personally.

The brand that surprised me most when i was looking for my new car this year was actually Mazda. The 6 saloon has really come on leaps and bounds over the years and now feels a high quality car indeed.

At the end of the day i think its just personal choice. If it feels okay to you, great! If not, there are plenty of other manufacturers out there willing to sell you an incredibly similar package instead. You make your choice and get what you pay for.

Nothing to say on this more, you said all mate.
And about electronic handbrake, mostly people hate it. Sometimes it gets stuck for no reason, and it's expensive as hell.
Mazda 3 and 6 are hell out of a good cars, but here dealers are only killing with services and parts. VW,Seat and Skoda is pretty affordable in my country, cause you can find quite good parts(not original ones) for fair price.

Has anyone got one of the free 250 fuel cards from seat?

Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Yes I got one when I ordered my FR. Arrived through the post the other week. I don't pay for fuel as I get a fuel card through work anyway but dealer told menits simply.a prepaid MasterCard so bought our little one a new car seat with it instead!!

There was a deal on across seat dealerships called the bug getaway or something just a cheesy. It was on between the 17th and 28th Feb from memory. Your dealer should have given you a leaflet and then when you collect your car you log on online on the website in the leaflet and fill in the details the dealer has filled in on the leaflet and then they send you it through the post.

Did you order it between those dates? My dealer specifically told me to wait to order mine until that deal was available as I was originally going to order it 2 weeks before that date.

I'll have a look when I'm back from work I'm not 100% sure I believe it was mid February so might have just missed it :(

Got an email from leasing company to say car has been built and is in transit (not in UK yet) :D. This is much quicker than I expected as only ordered on 6th March. I would expect the car to delivered to me in early May.

(1.4 150bhp mystery blue, no other extras)

So for anyone wondering about the latest lead times, I've just put an order in this morning for a 5dr Mystery blue 1.4 DSG Leon. Winter pack, seat sound system, spare wheel, sunroof, parking pack, advanced driving pack 1, keyless entry and connecting box thingy, along with the 'styling pack'.

Standard order lead time is currently 12 weeks.
FR models need an extra 4 weeks and the sunroof adds another 2, so that's 18 weeks all-in. September basically.

All I gotta do now is keep my current Leon in one piece :)

@Henry - dealer mentioned 9 weeks delay on one of the 18" alloy options to me, but didn't elaborate much cos I said I'd just stick with the standard 17s. . He was looking at some sort of online checking system though so I guess that hopefully the place you've ordered from can look up the anticipated lead time.

Seemed to me that there's a basic 12 week wait, but then some extras will add extra time to that. Dealer reckoned FR models have an extra 4 weeks, and sunroofs add 2 more. There was talk elsewhere in this thread of a shortage of one of the types of 18" alloys but I don't know which one.

Similar thing happened in 2013, I recall sunroofs being the culprit - seems the factory lost their can opener leading to delays for cars which needed a hole in the roof.

All that said, they're estimates, so could be quicker (but could be longer). The wait begins!

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it turns up with enough time left in the year for the sunroof to be open!! ;)

Ordered my Leon St Fr in Emocion red, 18" performance alloys, convenience pack and panoramic glass roof on 13th February, picking it up tomorrow.. can't wait. Nipped in past the dealer last night whilst out running to see it fresh off the transporter. Looked great and will look even better tomorrow.

Originally ordered it with the diamond cut wheels but that would have delayed it a further 7 weeks! For wheels! No thanks, so went to the normal 18's. Got some alloys pedal covers from eBay to fit, swapping carpet mats for rubber (yard at work is a dust bowl), also got some new plates with the font I prefer and a clear boot lip protector.

Can't wait, just need to find somebody near to Dundee to do some of the magic plug in mods.. needle sweeps, carbon dash screen and anything else I fancy, also trying to source a Cupra boot lip spoiler aswell.

Roll on tomorrow, if anybody fancies doing the OBD stuff for beer or beer tokens near Dundee let me know.
