had the wheels off my car the other day and on the front the person before has used 2 spacers 1x5mm and 1x10mm on each side but there not hubcentric ones and are a pain to fit the wheels back on and he has only used the standard bolts.

yet on the rear wheels there are no spacers.

so should i get some spacers for the rears if so what size.
or do i need spacers at all.

the wheels i think are 18" 8 j et35 tyre size is 225 40 18

or could anyone send me a link for some hucentric ones that would suit these.

thanks

That sounds a bit dangerous 2 spacers on each wheel why not fit a 15mm spacer, also bet it look weird a front track is wider on a leon anyway,i would fit 10mm on the rear & 5mm on the front

What wheels do you have? And also is your car an LCR as someone may have fitted the to clear the Brembo callipers if you're on after-market wheels.

Do you mean they've used a 5mm and 10mm on the same wheel? Cause that just sounds dangerous! I'd whip them off and if you do need spacers get some proper hubcentric ones with the extended bolts.

ok will try that but i think the front is so low that it will rub on the coilovers. good job im putting my own coilovers on it and raising it up.

Ah right, seems odd that they would bother doing that then...get rid of them and get some decent spacers on there ;)

yeah everything is strange about this car lol. just like they had taken off the recirculating valve and blanked it off. mind you it was boosting better like that lol. put it back to how it should be once i found out it should have one on it. never had a seat leon before so a bit new to turbos and that so didnt really know what i was looking for when i bought it. good job i didnt pay loads for it.

I would definately take the spacers off mate and get some hubcentric ones. The ones you are describing sound like the cheap ones, they but stress on the wheel bolts and they could snap at any point!!! :O

I am running same size wheels, offset & tyres on the front & i have enough clearance lowered around 50mm on coilovers without spacers

Yeah they are the cheap ones by the look of it. I'm working all weekend so not gonna be able to do anything to the car. I'm gonna have to get my jack out when I can and have a good look to see if they clear everything without the spacers.

Was gonna say I bet it's to clear the coilovers - it is on mine - but I think we've already come to that conclusion

'Dangerous' is a bit of an over-reaction...your wheel bolts aren't going to snap if they're all seated correctly and tight - your wheels don't move (or shouldn't!) once they're bolted to the hub, not having a spigot on the spacer just makes it a bit more difficult to line them up

Yeah it is a pain to line up without a spigot and with two spacers moving about. I'm hoping to put a 10mm spacer on the back and just a 5mm on the front one I put my new coilovers on and raise the car up.
