hi guys, my brother in laws leon 1.4 16v has a tank/resovoir on the back of his engine that has a pipe that runs to the top of his air box.

this box and the pipe that runs to the airbox always fills up with a thick yellow/white gunk.

his car uses no water but is a bit stuttery.

Not too clear aobut what you mean but it sounds lke the oil breather system, you will find it in the cap aswell as the breather hoses and its down to the car not being used alot, not being fully warmed up, jus poping out down the road now and again and is simply hot + cold = H2o (condensation) which mixes with the oil and creates the creamy gunk which blocks everything up, so many people take an oil cap off, see this and immidatley say the headgasket has gone :S

best thing is is to clean all the breather pipes out and maybe a quick oil change then take it for a good run and let it burn the deposits off.
