Yes I have done a search but I can’t find what I need. I’m looking for a comprehensive guide on changing the timing belt on an LCR. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
  2. Ordering a new timing belt - what info is needed?

Hi I'm getting this polish guy in work to get me a timing belt when he goes back to poland tomorrow. Supposedly car parts are insanely cheap over there. He asked me engine size, bhp, and engine type. How would I find out the type of engine? He described what I'm looking for, something...

Timing Belt DIY - How difficult is it?

Hi all, Looking for a bit of advice/experience: Is changing the timing belt on a 99 2L AGG engine a realistic DIY job? Are there any specialist tools required? I'd like to be able to pay for someone else to do it but I've been quoted £270 - £320 which is a bit much at the minute...

Got a good price for 60k and belt

Spoke to my local VAG specialist as my 60k is a little late, coming up to 67k now. Got a price of £154 inc VAT, which I thought was decent. Also enquired about Cam Belt and got £220 +VAT, and it includes the water pump, so all in around £400. Sound about right?

  9. Vibration at idle after timing belt change

I have just had my timing belt, tensioners etc , and water pump replaced on a Leon Mk1 110 tdi. The engine is running fine but there is a noticeable vibration at idle (steady 900 rpm) through the steering wheel and driver's seat. This was not there previously. From various searches I have...

  11. Cordoba broken - loose bit near belt (+pics)

Since my Leon Cupra was cruelly cremated a few weeks ago i've been driving my girlfriend's Cordoba. Last night the power steering failed and it started making a lot of noise. I've taken a look this morning and the power steering reservoir is empty. I've also found what appears to be...

Lost my power steering belt - any short term problems?

After a spin into the gravel at Donington Park yesterday, I've lost the power steering belt. Thus I'm taking a trip back to the 1980's and manhandling the steering wheel. I actually prefer the feedback that the unassisted steering is giving me on the track - just realise how spoilt we've...
  13. Timing belt renewal question

My car is a Y reg 1.6 with 55k miles, I bought it last march and the log book didnt have a timing belt renewal entry in it so I thought I'd better get it done, by a local garage not a Seat dealer. So have I made a mistake of not having a full belt/tensioner kit renewal done the other day? I...
