Wonderee if you still had the update file to 1940 or 1969 or is the USB C manu

Yeah i went settings system info I think it is where it shows you your software number then it has a button which is something like show updates and its blank
Ok, I asked Chat GPT and it gave the following. Would be interested to know if it worked :

Yes, it is possible to force an OTA (over-the-air) update on a Cupra Formentor if the update is available. Here’s how to do it:

1. Connect to Wi-Fi: Make sure your vehicle is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. OTA updates typically require a good internet connection.

2. Go to the Infotainment System:

Tap on the “Settings” icon.

Navigate to “System Information” or “Software Update” (the exact menu name may vary).

3. Check for Updates:

Look for an option like “Check for Updates” and select it.

If an update is available, the system should prompt you to download and install it.

4. Force Update (if no prompt appears):

Restart the infotainment system by holding the power button for about 10 seconds.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi and repeat the update check.

5. Accept and Install:

If an update is found, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it.

Keep the engine running during the process to avoid interruptions.

If the manual check doesn’t show an update but you believe one should be available, it might be necessary to contact a Cupra dealership or use the Cupra Connect app to see if they can push the update remotely or provide guidance.

I will try this when the misses is back with the car and see if I can do the above and let you know.

I had already contacted a Seat/Cupra dealer and they advised it would need to have a diagnostic at 130+VAT then software update would be on top which is so annoying as OTA should work and if it wasn't for this stupid over taking issue where it slows your speed down to the car your overtaking while using ACC then I wouldn't be too fussed

Worth a go if you can connect to your house WiFi, or a hotspot on your phone if you have a good data connection. I've always found the built in SIM/signal to be pretty random at providing a strong connection.

Good luck

Unfortunately no luck 🤦🏻‍♂️

Who could have knowing something so simple would be so frustrating!

Note to self never buy used or not from a main dealer ever again 😂

We're legally unable to distribute software update files, sorry. We do offer update services here at our workshop

You'll have updates for other modules too, which cannot be DIY'd

Ah fair one. I've just seen Seat do a Cupra Connect service plan for £22.75 pm, mine is due a service in July (major one) and under the list it says software upgrades so may give Group 1 Ipswich a call tomorrow to see if it's something that comes under that and if so I'll take out a service plan and kill two birds with one stone 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks everyone for your help on this thread.
Contacted Seat/Cupra dealership this morning and they said I'm due a software update/recall which will be done free of charge and hopefully this addresses the issue, they will also run a diagnostic and see if any other updates are available although this could cost up to £115 so fingers crossed it's just the MIBD update and then OTA will kick in there after and the ACC overtake issue will be a thing of the past.

Then I can focus on maybe getting a reverse camera and remap 😉

I remember this Overtaking on the Right issue on my 71 plate V2

I ended up fixing it with OBD11

DEACTIVATE OVERTAKING RIGHT PREVENTION
- Select Control Unit 13
- Select “Long Coding
- Select “Overtaking_right_prevention”
- Select “Deactivated”

If the software update from the dealer next week my next step will be to purchase OBD11 and do just that.
It's so annoying

Agree.

I also couldn't stand the ACC - far too sensitive at slowing down way before the car in front.
I coded in normal cruise control so you have the choice of ACC, Normal or limiter.

And as for the Lane Assist !!!!!!
Quick coding session and it remembers the last setting ( always off for me )

I'm okay with the ACC other than preventing me from over taking without blipping the throttle at the moment.
Adding cruise is it just another option rather than removing ACC?
The lane assistn strangely I've had the opposite view i didn't think it was working and certainly isn't overly aggressive at keeping you in lane on the dual carriageways I'd like the option that remembers what you last had set though.
I've ordered the OBD11 pro so looking fwd to that coming, is the coding simple? It looked very straight fwd from YT more options than actual coding.
