Well, after a wonderful stint of 3,5 years, I sold my dear Leon FR two months ago and I'm just now able to gather myself to post this.

I was really thinking that I could live with Leon 10 more years because I was so in love with it. It was my favorite color, had a manual gearbox, loaded with kit and I had added even more kit through original retrofits. It was a real love affair and I was really sad to see it go. Anyway, my decision to get a brand new car was quick: I was just looking at the new Cupra prices and I realized I was able to afford an Ateca, not the 300-HP-4x4 one but a more humble 1.5 TSI ACT, only front drive, with DSG7 automatic, but fully loaded with almost every possible piece of kit (Turkish importer company offers only one trim level, with all possible extras) Anyway, more on Ateca later, now it's time to share some parting shots of my lovely Leon. It will be missed dearly.

I'll keep being around & cheers,
Serdar

P.S: Here's the link to my introduction post about my Ateca: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/previous-seat-leon-new-cupra-ateca-owner.478226/

Congratulations with the Ateca! The Leon looks very good, I dont think I ever saw the dual exhaust from stock anywhere on the dutch roads. Also the color is lovely!

The Ateca is a totally different car I can imagine, higher sitting position, probably heavier car etc. Safe travels & enjoy it for every kilometer (y)
Thank you very much for your good wishes!

Leon was a very special car for me, I took very good care of it for 3.5 years and I was planning to keep it for a long long time and I wasn't in much of a need for a bigger or more luxury car really. But a sudden wind of change threw me around, I found the Ateca's kit and Cupra-looks exciting and here I am As you said, it sits just a little bit higher & heavier, but nimble enough to chuck it around corners, with its Cupra-tuned, lowered springs and adjustable shocks. Anyway, it would be amazing if it was the 300-HP 4x4 version but our country's tax policy on bigger displacement cars is over-punishing so we have to make do with lesser ones and I'm so happy anyway

Thanks again & see you around.

Oh no, your Leon is such a good example with all the work you've done especially the aero kit!
Keep us updated with the Ateca i bet you have plans for it already even though it's fully loaded.

Oh yes, I have plans

I have already done two modifications; one is for the exhaust system, and the other is the dual-tone horn which was in the original Ateca spec but later removed by the factory as a result of some shameless cost cutting move. I wrote about those in my introductory post under Cupra/Ateca.

Other cost cutting measures I found include washer fluid level sensor and heated washer nozzles. My Leon had those, one as part of the Headlight Washer feature, and the other as part of the Winter package. It's a shame that they didn't add them in a car carrying a brand they push as somewhat upmarket.

Anyway, I plan to add those but it's not as easy as similar retrofits we have done before, because newly introduced SFD2 protection makes coding changes hard/or impossible, at least for the time being.

There are some other bigger features I've been considering to retrofit, but more on those later...

I'll keep you fellow forum friends posted of course
