I successfully updated the infotainment system in my Leon a couple of months ago to 1969 however it seems to have caused a new 'bug'. Every other week the system starts up showing the tutorial screen and has forgotten any customisations that I have made to the main screen although my user is still logged in and it is showing my name and successfully syncs. Has anyone come across this before and knows of a fix?
I had this bug while being on 1940. Rather annoying. Sometimes logging out of the main user by selecting Guest profile and then selecting my own main profile would solve the issue but must times it would have synced the reset to my profile as well. Gonna be interesting to see if it keeps happening since I just got the firmware updated to 1969. The resets however, in my case, would usually happen if the car have had other software issues. Like once, my adaptive cruise control, engine programs(ECO, SPORT, etc.) and EV/Hybrid controls were all locked off/greyed out of the blue. I put the car on a charger and when I returned in the morning the car had reset everything but the software issues were also gone.

Thank you for your feedback. From what I understand, there's no way for me to fix the issue on my own, and I’ll need to take it to the dealer. Since my car is out of warranty, it seems I’ll have to cover the cost for a problem that originated with the vehicle. Thanks again for your help.
did you end up taking to a garage? what was the cost?

I was 1790 and tired a few days ago to get 1899, and it nearly bricked my system. Tired your version of 1899 and I can sleep easy now as everything is working like a dream.

now will wait a few days before doing 1940 then 1969

@cairus thank you once again

Sorry by bottering you guys, but as newbie I have some questions:
On the system information can you tell me what ABT stands for ?
When we do the infotaitment update does that changes anything on that ABT software ?
Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm not supposed to ask this here

ABT stands for Anzeige Bedien Teil - what it does technically, I don't know.
It's german words, you can translate

Forgot about the second thing, my bad.
I'm almost sure that the ABT version is not changing after updating MIB software.
Only via diagnostics flashing of control unit

Hi,

I know how the update is done, pressing for a couple seconds the menu to enter service mode and then update.

I do not know is if this will mess up something due to have some limitations on the menus for beeing a Fiscal Edition as I told before, It's a FR but I don't have rear Camera, or the ambiance lights, Full Link is not working (I know that it's something you can purchase at the oficial dealer, I think), don't have on the menu the option to change colors.

That's why I am afraid to do the update
Hi Kapeta,

I think i have the same car as you and i updated from 1790 to 1899 to 1969 succesfully.

First of all, thanks everyone for all the info is this topic; it helped me a lot! I succesfully updated my infotainment system from 1790 to 1899 to 1969. I had a few hesitations before updating:

- First off all, i wasn't sure my infotainment system was correct for the update. The last letter of my device number (in my case, a D) was not found in anyone else's photo's. Everyone had a different letter at the end. I now know, this last letter is not relevant for the check. As long as your device number starts with 5FA035862, you should be fine, in my opinion. After updating from 1790 to 1899, I even discovered that the last letter of my devicenumber had changed (now a M)! See pictures below.
- My car originally didn't had Carplay/ Android auto. My dealer activated this for me. I was a little bit afraid, that after the update, this may be broken. But is was not the case.

So how did the update process go? I had some little complications.

When i first started the update from 1790 to 1899; i only saw a black screen (with a back button) for 4 minutes. After a while, it continued, and one update was installed fairly quickly (within 30 seconds). The system then restarted. I was still on version 1790 at that point.

When I performed the update to 1899 again, the black screen with only the back button appeared again. After 4 mintutes the update to 1899 started and was succesfully installed.

After the update of 1899, i did the same procedure for 1969; this went quick and smooth.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD, one less step :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

But, my curiosity....where can I know if there are updates? Is there an official channel, or site, or something else?
Or do I have to periodically check on the forum? :roflmao:
As far as i know, only dealers can officialy see if there's an update. We have to wait until someone will post the update files on a forum like this.
