was reported on the thread from another site.. the owner was slagging vag yard off funny that
Haha, yeah, I saw that too. Classic, right? Always the ones shouting the loudest about others who’ve got their skeletons rattling the hardest. Vag Yard might not be perfect, but the owner throwing shade?

Good looking car, that. You should be proud. Now put the engine in and take it for a spin.

Not literally.

MoT on Thursday. Eight years living by the sea, my luck's going to run out sometime. Anything that needs welding is when I might bow out on this one. Best car I ever owned, but I've actually only owned three anyway! Some car guy. Always wanted to do a few more things performance wise, but that needed money I didn't have at the time and I can't really justify spending more than the car is worth on a tune and suspension, now I can afford it, especially when it's a diesel.

My MOT is tomorrow. Had a mobile mechanic replace the ball joints and track rod ends so shouldn't fail on those at least. Plus needed 4 new tyres so an expensive January. At least I got £70 off and a £50 Amazon voucher out of ATS.

Today I had to fix the side skirts that had flexed out under the jack, so took them off, cleaned them up and replaced all the screws with new. All straight and neat again!

Those side skirts... The torx screw on the offside rear is rounded out but to replace it I'm going to have to jack up the car and take the wheel off because there's no room to get any tools in.

I'm going to guess they're full of crap anyway, which might be why they never quite go back where they're supposed to, but whether that's something I can be bothered to do...

Good luck with the MoT. Always feels like going to the dentist - everything looks fine, but when they start poking around, there's always trouble...

Good luck bud hope she sails through, yeah these cars are not great for jacking up, a few yrs back i bought jacking point inserts at least now I can jacking in a area that does no damage now. Just Google them mate.

I had one trashed screw but managed to jam a torx bit a size bigger into it and managed to turn it a mm at a time after a spray of GT85.

They will go always go back straight, but you have to remove them completely and refit. Just trying to do the flexed end doesn't work so some reason.

Sounds like you've given it a good spruce up, I'm sure it will fly through 👍
