Lol don't worry mate, your house hold not massive car fans, mine are the same, especially if I talk about f1 lol. I get this not vain bit I get this alot here and there when I say what I've done so far and what I may do next, a little jealousy comes across like how can you afford to do this an what not, well it's cos I don't waste my cash in the pubs no more and I save up but people don't see that bit o well. Glad you enjoyed a solid conversation on this with Al Dave.
Nice to hear I'm not alone with the fam etc. lol. I can't help but get excited about my car, and the opportunity to have a enthusiastic chat about them is what lifts my spirits. This forum has given me 15 years of awesome advice, encouragement & pride & I know I wouldn't have kept the dream alive without it.
As for the snide comments/haters, I know exactly what you mean. I have been 'advised' to scrap it a few times & not because it's knackered, but because they don't want to see it showing up their ****. I've actually pissed quite a few people off around here, it's just too small & sexy for rural Somerset😁

No you are not alone I am sure there are some petrol head family's but all the guys I meet on track days love to talk about their motors and all say the Mrs/Other half don't understand and they must not show them the bills or else...

I was at a track day last week and we spent a lot of time talking about our old motors (Cortina's, Marina's) even though the guy I was next to was in a very nice Lotus.

@BadBoy03 Yeah I get you on this as this car has really grown on me from the 1st time I saw it to this very day if anything it's got stronger I genuinely don't see me getting tid of her for a few reasons the money put in is not 1 but how someone else would look after her, people never ask how long it's taken to get to this stage they just see dollar bills. Screw them that don't like it next to there motors, they are not true car guys, car guys and girls like cars in general and respect other rides if low end or high end, so keep her around somerset as long as she's puts a smile on ur face who cares about the miserable gits 😆

Proper event for proper car people, nice. Older cars had personality and body lines, the newer cars seem to lack this and all seem based very similar to each other like as if they are scared to be different in case it don't pay off, shame really.

Thanks mate, nice to hear.
I think nostalgia is what makes a car truly special. If you've had fun/eventful times in your ride, & enjoyed tending to it's every need (the best you can that is), then I think that's when it becomes irreplaceable & memorable. After all you can't buy memories, you make them. 🤟

I'm glad you're taking your ride to new places, it does look awesome 😎 (I can see why peeps are jealous) 😉

With all this talk about cars... I not been to a car meet for years and year ( yes I am old).
Do you recon with the power of facebook and searcupra we do sort of muster up a mk1 leon meet. I feel it should be at a track day. Even just to come and see the others if you not go on track.
Any ideas
