For those to whom the update became available - did your dealer contact you and tell you about the available update, or how did you find out and receive a new version of the software?

I asked the dealer several times and they told me there’s no update available. That was until I got information on this forum about TPI 2066091/17. As soon as I mentioned the TPI to the dealer they booked the the car for the 1940 update without any further questions!
Still just days since the update (last Wednesday) but all good so far.

What is the information about TPI 2066091/17 ? And if it's not a secret, what country are you from? I have software version A896 on my car and I asked for updates, but the dealer says that there is nothing.

I’m from Sweden and I was also on A896 before the update to 1940.
I don’t have all the details about the TPI but it’s supposed to fix the idsue with the infotainment restarting randomly and probably more.
Apple Carplay icons are smaller (much better), the system is more responsive and I think the Beats sound system sounds better (not sure if that’s part of the update or just imagination).
Ask the dealer to check the TPI and you should get the update. My experience is that you have to push them, they don’t offer it unless it’s obvious to them.

I'm currently running 1896, i would say i get a random reboot maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Which in the grand scheme of things isn't too bad, which means i am reluctant to have it updated to 1940. Is anyone else 'putting up' with the reboots because they only get them sporadically?

Since upgrading to 1940 I didn't get a single reboot.

So….after watching the posts on here, and the growing prevalence of the 1940 upgrade, I decided to send a lengthy email to my dealer along with links to this thread and the TPI number.
Imagine my surprise when after being told on at least three occasions there were no updates for my car to be told there now is🙄

so it’s now booked in for the 1940 update and first service towards end of August…fingers 🤞🏻I see a reduction in reboots and less “Glitches”🙏🏻🥴

Me for one! Running 1896 with occasional reboots. Its an hour and a half round trip (without M25 traffic) to my nearest dealer, since my local one closed so cant be arsed. First service not due for another year so cant combine it with that either.

Tbh I’ve kinda got used to it…sort of…but while it’s still under warranty I see no reason NOT to have it done while I can?

After recent trips, my kids, who of course sit in the back, say that the rear ventilation control screen turns on and off endlessly without any logic. Is this normal, or is this another glitch in the Infotainment system? My software is A896.

My money would be on as its a TPI the dealer will get the labour charge paid by Cupra without any hassle, where as otherwise they'd have to cover it themselves or fight their case to get authorization to do the update..

I have just gone from 1898 to 1940 and all now appears to be well. I had issues with voice control and the sat nav not talking. Too early to see If I get random reboots.

As soon as I got home it wanted to do another over the air update which also completed successfully.

The screen seems more responsive and car play looks different. Not sure what else has changed, maybe the font and logos on the DAB screen.

Just spoke to my dealership, they obviously have my VIN etc and it's not showing any update newer than the 1896 I have currently, for reference I have a November 2020 vz310, anyone else of a similar model got the same response or opposite?

I only have a 1.5 auto but was told the same (I'm on 1896) that there were no updates, however after an e mail to my dealer, and links to this thread along with the TPI number they have now said my car IS ok to update to 1940, booked in towards end of August

I have Formentor VZ and I have asked the dealer many times, they say that there are no updates.

Not all dealers received a notification for a software update. Moreover, according to the dealer, a lot depends on the country, version of the car and its configuration. All TPIs are visible to them, but they do not have permission to install them.
At the moment they are making updates in case the customer comes up with an issue that fits the criteria. And after diagnosing, they MAYBE install a system update if any of the errors fit the manufacturer's instructions for updating the system.

In other words, the update is not yet available as an update for absolutely everyone. While apparently it has some limitations and is not a company for everyone.
