Hi all,
Are people still getting the infotainment restarts as I’m still getting them not as bad. It still there. I’ve spoken to the dealer but said I’m on the latest firmware and only thing they can suggest is to do a full reset of the firmware so tell the car it’s a new head unit (but it’s not) to see if that solves the issue. But it seems to happen across Vag and seat so got to be a software issue as didn’t do it last year only started after a ota update.
Seat uk are just plain useless and as much help as a chocolate radiator!!
Totally agree regarding the infotainment (Although it just irritates me, my bigger worry is if the day comes when it just crashes totally) what I can’t get my head round is the consistent denials by dealers saying your car is not eligible for the latest update….despite there being one out and you could be two versions older!?

Maybe these updates are applied / rolled out in phases, starting with the older vehicles first or perhaps updates are applied in vehicle VIN order, starting with the lowest VIN first. So maybe it’s a case of “your car’s not eligible yet, as we haven’t got to your car’s VIN with the update process, but it will be eligible in x weeks / months time“ rather than it’s not eligible at all. Exceptions to this might be where a car has a software related issue that can be replicated by the dealer; in such cases, the car might automatically become eligible for the latest update and jump the queue.

The above is just speculation on my part, but it would be good if dealers managed customer expectations and explained if there was a pecking order for software updates and why some vehicles with older versions aren’t eligible or eligible yet. VAG have never been good at customer communication though 😡.

It's more likely you're getting fobbed off as (from what I've seen previously) dealers only get a fixed rate per warranty job from the manufacturer (which is usually way below what they'll screw a customer for), plus the car is taking up space in the shop which they could be charging someone full rate for....

You may well be right. If so, then IMHO it’s poor customer service from a relatively new brand such as Cupra that has aspirations of being recognised as a premium brand.

This morning I've booked mine in for it's service at 2 years old (only 9300 miles). It's a Hybrid and I was texted by CUPRAUK a couple of weeks ago that there's a software update required, see here. The service rep checked and said yes it was on the system and it also has a recall for a battery module replacement which he says will take half a day. It's not going in till the 27th March so fingers crossed that the infotainment system behaves itself after the update.

Had a reboot while reversing out of a busy car park! With the limited visibility and no reversing camera I had no choice but to pull back in, wait for it to get done and then reverse out.

Absolutely nuts.

Might have some positive news....

I bought mine in October with 12000 km on it.
In Novenber the keyless access started to act up. Only working the first day after the car was washed. Only unlocking, locking always worked.
( it would also lock when washing it if the key was nearby. Temperature ( -18° / +15° ) made no difference to mine, only dirt )
I took it to the shop. They uploaded new software. Keyless acces was fine...until i came home. Then i failed again.

After that all the problems with travel assist began. See this video
Also it ramdomly restarted the whole system while driving ( usually 1-2 minutes after start up )
And the voice activated assistant would randomly ask me what i wanted even if no one said a word.
I also got a replacement for the missing engine cover. Cost me EUR 148,-. Not included in the Cupra warranty.

It went back to the shop for a full day for another check and software upload.
When i got it back home all the problems were still there. But also it started messing up the interior lights. The front two leds in the top panel sometimes worked, sometimes completely dead. The two overhead leds in the back always worked.

The shop ordered a "box" ( called 5F or F5...i forgot ) from the importer.
8 weeks later, still no delivery time. So, i lost patience and started pushing the importer directly, demanding a quick solution or have them buy the car back. 3 weeks, no reply. But after resending the message and several calls, i got a call from the shop they they suddenly got the part ( because some one had "pulled som strings").

Had the box replaced Monday this week. Waited another 41/2 hours.
When the mechanic drove the car out of the workshop i could see he was not happy.
Now there is an alarm on the air bag. And he has found out that the overhead panel and the steering wheel both need replacement.
So, now we shall see how long before they are available.

Ending on a positive note...since Monday i have not had a single alarm on any of the travel assist and the doors have worked perfectly despite salt and dirt.
The shop ( which i have known for 15 years ) has been really good as always. The mechanic obviously knows his stuff and is making en extra effort to solve this.

Apologies for the loooong post. I hope it can be useful to others with the same problems. I will update once the overhead panel and steering wheel are replaced.

PS : Apparently 1899 or 1900 are not yet released for my car.

I got a steering wheel replaced in under 3 weeks for our VZ3 310 for a warranty job which was picked up before we picked up the car when we bought it.
Not sure what was actually wrong for it to need to be replaced but at least it didn't take long. SMC Woking did a great job swapping it over in sub 2 hours.

A short update...
Two days after getting the new box all the alarms came back into their endless loop on top of the now faulty air bag.

So, because i am constantly riding around on my horse whinging left and right for no reason, i have given up.
The car will be traded in tuesday.

My Infotainment restarts occasionally.
Started 3-4 months ago, about a month after updating to A896. I think there was some minor update after that, I am not sure, and then restarts began.

What I have noticed is that the restart will never happen on the first run of the day. Only when I turn off the car, and then start it again in less than 2 hours later. Restart will happen only once, about 30-60 seconds after car start. It doesn't happen every time, it can go days without restarting once.

Interestingly, I had a first regular service recently. I asked about a software update, they said there were none available for my car. After I said about the restart problem, all of a sudden there was an update available. It was 1896. After I picked up the car there was an additional OTA update.

Restart problem is still here...

I have also an issue with the infotainment system of Arona FR (MY 2022).
The infotainment system turns off by itself and restarts for about 10 minutes, after it works ok but it happens more than 3 times since I bought it in January 2023.

Please write if somebody face the same issue and how its solved ?

Thanks in advance....

Did you get an ota update in January? As mine was working fine until the ota update and since then I get the rebooting issue. There seems to be no fix as I’ve contacted the dealer and seat uk and still no further forward. I get told I’m on the latest firmware. Seat uk and the dealer are not replying to me now.

I had exactly the same issue after the update in January. It’s not rebooted for around three weeks though now, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Mine rebooted again today, hasn’t done that for some time, so guessing it’s time again…
Last time it stopped when it suddenly popped (after maybe rebooting maybe 5-10 times) ”No primary user…” and I clicked cancel or something. I am the primary user so this will probably continue until that message is displayed and I can cancel it.

Would be nice for if seat could just say there is an issue and update coming soon, but they just ignore it like there isn’t an issue.

I contacted Cupra Sweden earlier this year and they responded thay had spoke to my garage and that they would be happy to take it in. After checking with the garage I was told there’s no update available for my car (I’m on A896) so I decided not to bring it in. They can’t fix software issues if there’s no update and they have no idea when/if there will be one anytime soon.
